Basic Function:
Responsible for placing Company products into inventory, selecting customer orders from inventory, packaging and shipment of such orders including loading the Company's products in trucks.
Prerequisites:
Employees must have basic math and reading skills to carry out required tasks. They must also have the ability to get along with co-workers and supervisors in a consistently friendly way. The employee must be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Mental functions: Employees must be capable of counting Company products in an accurate fashion and performing basic mathematical calculations; Shipping mistakes must be kept at a minimal level. They must be able to read and understand fastener technology, write legibly in English, use gauges and rulers to check fastener sizes. Employees in this classification must be able to understand and follow simple instructions from their supervisor, carry out most tasks unaided and work cohesively with fellow employees in the work group. They must be able to work in an organized and systematic way so that products are properly placed in inventory, selected correctly and shipped to customers as ordered. They must be able to understand the customary documents used in this classification such as bills of lading, customer orders, inventory reports and the like. They must be able to understand and utilize all aspects of the computer scanning, labeling, and bar-coding systems.
2. Physical functions: Employees must be able to lift 30 to 50 pounds, approximately 25 or more times per day and lift 15 to 30 pounds approximately 100 times a day. There will be additional lifting of lighter weights. They must be able to use a hand truck for large heavy containers. Lifting would include "high lifting" which means raising or lowering containers of about 50 pounds above waist and shoulder level in a vertical direction and “low lifting" which means raising or lowering containers of about 50 pounds up to waist level in a vertical direction. Work would also include stooping and crouching which means bending the body forward at the spine and the knees in order to reach fasteners on lower shelves. They must be able to operate a forklift truck with the ability to place and remove full pallets on racks, 25 feet from the floor, load and unload trucks, or operate other equipment such as UPS, postal, label printing, computer terminal, packaging or sorting equipment. They must be capable of working a complete workday in work environments varying in temperature depending upon the climate of the area. All work must be done by a person capable of working on their feet, walking and moving about for a full 8-hour day.
3. Methods: Employees must perform the lifting and counting requirements of the job manually. Lift trucks and forklift trucks are available but often the products must be transferred from one pallet to another requiring lifting.
4. Equipment utilized: Employees use the following equipment: forklift truck, UPS, postal, packaging, or sorting equipment, lift truck, electronic scales, label printers, computer terminals, computer scanning devices, and other similar warehouse equipment.
5. Safety: Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of their job without a significant risk of substantial harm to the health and safety of the individual or others.

Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour
