WORK SHIFT:
First Shift (United States of America)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Meet delivery requirements by maintaining warehouse capacity and evaluating and recommending material handling systems.
  • Deliver finished goods, accessories, replacement parts, and samples by establishing strategy to process and control merchandise flow into, within, and from the distribution facility.
  • Improve operations by increasing production within facilities and researching and testing new methods.
  • Directly supervise shift manager(s) and coordinates the activities of 30-50 employees through the shift manager(s) and supervisors.
  • Maintain labor efficiency to include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and suggestions.
  • Execute operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, evaluating work results, and planning for seasonal requirements.
  • Establish procedures and audit processes to maintain and/or develop skills to:
  • Receive, store, and ship products,
  • Maintain inventory accuracy,
  • Maintain safe and clean operations; and
  • Keep equipment operational.

  • Provide effective communications within the department, as well as with other departments and/or customers, as required to accomplish results.
  • Meet goals established each year by proper use of Cambro's MOS; including observations, audits, KPI reporting, and action plan development and implementation.
  • Hold efficient meetings, develop meeting agendas, set clear goals for meetings, involve appropriate people, and encourage and balance input.
  • Communicate clear/consistent performance standards, address performance problems decisively and objectively in a direct but tactful manner, provides guidance and assistance to improve performance.
  • Support Company values, daily actions, and decisions, communicates vision and values to others, generates enthusiasm, and incorporates vision when planning.
  • Develop realistic plans that align with company goals, plans for and managers resources, creates contingency plans, coordinates/cooperates with others.
  • Set challenging and productive goals for the team, keep everyone accountable for actions, provide leadership and motivation, provide resources and support, use checkpoints and data to track progress, set up systems and processes to measure results.
  • Target and achieve results, set challenging goals, prioritize tasks, overcome obstacles, accept accountability, set team standards and responsibilities, provide leadership/motivation.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process to help determine capital expenditures and ongoing expenses, and ongoing monitoring to control expenses throughout the year within budget.
  • Enforce Company policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, and dependable in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization.
  • Execute each essential duty satisfactorily in order to perform job successfully.
  • Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.
  • Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect.
  • Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.
  • Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to immediate manager.
  • Able to understand and demonstrate Cambro company culture, display company core values (Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service).
  • Understands department's key performance indicators and contributes to achieve these goals both individually and as a team.
  • Other duties as needed or required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed, remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and 3 to 5 years of work experience, or 5 to 10 years of warehouse experience with a minimum of 5 years successfully managing a warehouse operation.
  • Comprehensive experience with warehouse management system(s).
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interests, proportions, percentages, area, and volume.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to break down problems into smaller components, understand underlying issues, process complex issues, and understands the difference between critical details and unimportant facts.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to adapt to change, be open to new ideas, take on new responsibilities, handle pressure, and adjust plans to meet changing needs.
  • Ability to recognize problems and respond, systematically gather information, sort through complex issues, seek input from others, address root cause of issues, make timely decisions, make difficult decisions, use consensus when possible, and communicate decisions to others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, create accurate and punctual reports, deliver presentations, share information and ideas with others, and have excellent listening skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior warehouse relocation experience.
  • Prior WMS implementation experience.

  • Driving cars, trucks, forklifts and other equipment

PPE Requirements
  • Safety glasses
  • Safety toe, slip-resistant shoes
  • Hearing protection (e.g. ear plugs, ear muffs)
  • Face covering (mask) in accordance with company policy.
The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for the operation of the distribution facility and all related activities to efficiently receive and ship products and maintain inventory accuracy. The Warehouse Ops Manager is also responsible for any additional locations, whether owned by Cambro, or an offsite storage facility where finished goods are received.
