POSITION SUMMARY:
The Material Handler supports both of our Extrusion Lines to safely deliver top quality scheduled production at standard rates or better. They are responsible for all auxiliary finishing and packing of equipment in addition to supplying both lines with raw materials. Moreover, the Material Handler ensures that the proper pack out, labeling, recording, and storing of all A-grade production, scrap, and regrind materials is executed safely and efficiently along with the proper operation of the Extrusion Reclaim System.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITY/STATISTICAL INFORMATION:
Responsible for supporting the Extrusion line scheduled products at or below standard cost. Includes assisting in changeovers. ~ $1000/hr.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Works safely following all plant safety policies, rule and procedures
· Finish final pallet packouts for both lines per Process Instruction Sheets
· Supply raw materials and supplies to extrusions line with fork truck as necessary
· Weigh and record all A-grade product and scrap on production sheets
· Move A-grade product to storage
· Backup packers during breaks
Run Pelletizer including startup, adjustments, monitoring, and cleaning as needed
· Weigh and label all regrind gaylords before moving to kanban
· Ensure all scrap gets ground up/re-pelletized
· Setup & put away all auxiliary equipment after zip cutting for scheduled products per Process Instruction Sheets
· Assist with Mechanical changeover of the production line
· Maintain a clean work environment in and around the assigned areas at all times
· Enter work requests in Maintenance Computer System for broken or malfunctioning equipment
· Analyze, prioritize, troubleshoot, and take corrective action when problems arise
· The ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
· 2+ years’ experience in a warehouse environment
· Experience operating a sit-down forklift & stand-up reach truck is required
SCHEDULE
· 2nd (1pm-9pm) & 3rd shift (9pm-5am)
· 40 hrs per week, some weekends, occasional overtime

Work Experience Requirements:
2 years’ experience in industrial / manufacturing related position
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:
· Manage multiple tasks simultaneously
· Remain focused and attentive in an environment with multiple distractions
· Follow complex written instructions with minimal errors
· Understand and apply basic mechanical principles including use of powered and non-powered hand tools
· Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
· Troubleshoot independently, consider known facts, and reach a logical conclusion to solve problems
· Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Outlook, Excel)
· Safely operate ride along pallet carts & sit down and stand-up fork trucks
· Use measuring tools accurately (lab scales, rulers, calipers, etc.)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
