Warehouse Manager/Supervisor

Hands on Warehouse Manager

Perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse. Hours M-F 130pm-10pm. On-call every other weekend.

• Supervisor 1-2 dock workers
• Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks (with pallet jack or forklift) and checking in/out freight
• Lift and load items up to 150 lbs at times
• Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area
• Prepare freight for shipping- packing, banding, crating, etc.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
• Supervise and assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas including:Filling and shipping customer orders, satisfying internal shipping requirements (technical service, vendors, etc.), ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation, receiving incoming material and routing to appropriate area or personnel, filling work orders from production, packaging assemblies and receiving into finished goods, ensuring inventory transactions are accurately
• Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of the department activities.
• Developing and maintaining departmental work instructions for all tasks.
• Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by production schedules and work flow.
• Interpreting company policies to workers and enforcing safety regulations.
• Recommending measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance.
• Continuously improve warehouse operations through the use of lean enterprise practices.
• Conferring with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and serving internal customers.

• Communication Skills: you will need to speak with coworkers and subordinates on a regular basis.
• Leadership Skills: you will need to hire employees and resolve conflicts, as well as keep employees motivated and on-task.
• Critical-Thinking Skills: Warehouse: you will need to devise plans of action and assess those plans regularly.
• Organizational Skills: Multiple orders, people and many moving pieces. Creating and following procedures are extremely important.
• Problem-Solving Skills: you will need to be ready when problems arise, or be ready to anticipate problems before they happen.
