WAREHOUSE MANAGER DESCRIPTION The Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing all warehouse activities. Responsible for ensuring that warehouse activities, including Inventory Control, Safety Management, Shipping and Receiving, etc., are carried out efficiently and profitably. RESPONSIBILITIES Organize warehouse for maximum productivity Oversee processing to ensure efficiency and security Maintain security of inventory at all times Manage payroll within budget Supervise warehouse staff, including Distribution Specialists, Team Leaders and Drivers Log, track and document daily input/output of merchandise Process and file purchase orders Distribute purchase orders as directed by Inventory Manager Process and distribute orders quickly and accurately Oversee inventory received, shipped and distributed Prioritizate and stage orders in conjunction with Inventory Management, Store Management and Administration for warehouse processing Maximize productivity with frequent evaluation of all expenses and overall financial impact of the warehouse department in relation to the company as a whole Responsible for packing/shipping for the company, including monitoring shipping expenses and supplies Distribute store supplies Direct workload assignments for driver(s) to ensure distribution efficiency Oversee Return to Vendor (RTV) merchandise management, with appropriate documentation and communication with vendors and Inventory Manager Manage fixture and display assets, allowing for appropriate storage, loading, unloading, inventory and/or disposal Document damaged deliveries Lead by example and communicate policies and procedures to subordinate warehouse staff to maximize productivity, training them on performance standards, expectations, duties, responsibilities, equipment use, and safety Ensure the safety of all employees, visitors and guests in the warehouse by maintaining all safety standards consistently upheld in a warehouse environment Maintain cleanliness within the department including work areas, designated walkways, storage areas, supply areas, pallets, boxes, trash, RTV, and items returned to the warehouse Maintain all warehouse equipment and facilities Make deliveries and/or perform processing when needed May be asked to work overtime during busy season Other duties as assigned SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 1 to 3 years experience required, 5 years preferred, of supervision in a warehouse environment 1 to 3 years experience in inventory control and cycle counting preferred High School Diploma or equivalent required Forklift Certification a plus, but will train Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Advanced in Excel Key skills: leadership, management, training, coaching, communication, interpersonal, organizational, team-building, analytical, decision-making, problem-solving Ability to identify areas for improvement and immediately address them in an effective manner Attention to detail Strong knowledge of inventory control processes Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Much time will be spent standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, talking and hearing Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, with appropriate methods or equipment Good vision is necessary with particular emphasis on close and color vision, which allows the ability to (1) read fine print and small and/or hand-written font and (2) separate items and check things in by color Often required to stand and walk on concrete floors for many hours A certain amount of manual dexterity (foot and/or hand) will be required WORKING CONDITIONS Non-temperature-controlled warehouse - it can be very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter Noise level is moderate to loud Often required to work more than 40 hours a week and on weekends during peak season May be requested to drive company vehicle to other locations ABOUT OUR COMPANY Are you a beach enthusiast looking for your next adventure?
