Job description

Overview:
This position contributes to the success of the Transport and Direct Store Delivery Warehouse that operates as part of our Manufacturing Plant for Pepsi in Cranston, Rhode Island. The Warehouse Manager coordinates the receiving, shipping, and material handling responsibilities in the warehouse. The Warehouse Manager leads the Warehouse team, while improving operations, and supporting the front line staff.

Responsibilities include cost efficiency, continuous improvement on processes, service, and safety for a loading operation across all shifts. This individual is responsible for managing a 24/6 DSD and Transport loading operation in a union Plant and developing a team of supervisors. This role will have direct supervision over 3 Supervisors, 2 Coordinators and 50 Frontline Employees.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
  • Deliver effective change leadership to drive business changes while minimizing people impact
  • Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for front-line hourly and salaried personnel
  • Maintains safety and sanitation standards within Warehouse
  • Identify and coordinate operational improvements necessary to deliver the site annual operating plan (AOP). Ensure cost performance gaps are identified, action plans are developed, and resources are properly allocated.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures
  • Ensures smooth delivery of product for the Sales organization through Direct Store Delivery Loading. Needs to work Cross Functionally with Sales partners.
  • Reviews and prepares action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met
  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
  • Develops team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
  • Communicates and collaborates cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality Control, Transport and Sales to assist team to solve operational issues
  • Develops and implements warehouse operations system improvements by leading continuous improvement projects as assigned and by analyzing process work flow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout
  • Administer policies and procedures
  • Regular and predictable attendance at the work site
  • This role requires regular presence on the plant floor
  • This role requires lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally
  • This role requires occasional work in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow
  • This role may require off-shift and weekend work
  • This role may require some travel (less than 5%)
Compensation and Benefits:
  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $85,200 - $142,650 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred, demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement project
  • A minimum of 5 years of operations/logistics or supply chain experience preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years of Management experience preferred
  • Experience developing/coaching hourly and supervisory staff preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems
  • Forklift certification a plus
  • Experience with continuous improvement (i.e. Lean Six Sigma certification, TPM, lean manufacturing, etc)
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
