RESPONSIBILITIES
What You Can Expect Day-to-Day
Operating as the linchpin of the warehouse, the following are the core responsibilities of the Warehouse Manager:
· Manage all warehouse tasks in loading, unloading, order pulling, shipping, returns, forklift operation, receiving, and distribution
· Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work, training to best practices, and coaching/counseling as needed, ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment
· Load and unload materials to and from designated storage area, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles. Stack or pile materials, such as lumber, boards, or pallets
· Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results
· Perform general maintenance (including equipment) and repairs
· Prep, pack, load, and strap items for shipping and delivery
· Warehouse organization and oversight to maximize space
· Manage equipment/tools sent and returned from job sites
· Schedule all incoming loads, giving appropriate appointment times
· Interact with customers, drivers, vendors, auditors, and visitors in a manner that is consistent with the company’s mission and policy statements
REQUIREMENTS
What it Takes
The most effective Warehouse Managers are organized, strategic leaders, committed to efficiency, safety, and optimizing operations for success.
Minimum Required:
· 1+ yrs. experience in the construction industry with warehouse exposure
· Knowledge of the latest federal and state safety regulations
· Current valid driver's license with reliable transportation **
· Ability to work well with your hands and operate power tools
· Detail oriented completing all other assigned duties
· Ability to work well as a team or as an individual, with minimum supervision
· Self-starter with attention to detail
· Results-driven personality
· Available flexible hours, including some overtime during high volume period
· 3+ years of proven work experience as a Warehouse Manager
· Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
· Leadership skills and ability to direct staff
· Excellent communication skills
· Exceptional decision-making and problem-solving skills
**May drive a truck to pick up incoming stock or deliver materials to designated locations or operate forklift or other machinery to complete task
Preferred:
· OSHA Safety Certificate
· Experience in HVAC and/or Plumbing
Physical Demands:
· Ability to work safely in an office/warehouse environment and lift and/or move up to 50+ lbs.
· Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts as well as inclement weather conditions (heat, cold, etc.)
· Perform physical activities that require considerable strenuous use of your arms and legs (climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping)
