POSITION OVERVIEW
As a supervisor in training, performs as lead warehouse duties and processes ensuring operational excellence, performance mentoring and just-in-time training for all workers on the shift in the warehouse. Performs a vital role concerning safety and safe behaviors. Inspects and ensures that are materials meets quality standards and customer requirements. Is responsible for a number of critical safety-related functions and responsibilities. Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Performs related work as required
Pay Range: $25-$28 (DOE) plus monthly incentives bonus.

POSSIBLE SMART OBJECTIVES FOR THIS POSITION
In order to successful in this position, the incumbent will bring their leadership skill and related operational experience to flawlessly complete the following objectives within the stated timelines:
Objective # 1. Within the first 30 days, the incumbent will meet with each associate on the shift and, while using a guided interview template, will discuss critical topics with each associate to get to know them and to understand their perspective about their job, and their commitments to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Objective #2. Within the first 90 days, the incumbent will become competent in interpreting work orders and sales orders so that investigating traceability discrepancies in the WMS allowing you to identify and manage them .You will read and learn to understand the training documents(W5 Picking instructions,W14 Split Packs,W21 Handling MTOS,W7(E) Processing orders using REM packs) for Bistrack so that the SME can test your understanding and qualify you……
Objective #3. Within the first 120 days, the incumbent will conduct a thorough evaluation of all pulling procedures to identify areas where Lean practices may be implemented for improvement and establish best practices that maximize overall efficiency.
Objective #4. Within the first 120 days, the incumbent will assess and evaluate current operations methods and identified opportunities within the processes for reducing overtime by at least 15%.
Objective #5. Within in the first 120 days, the incumbent will develop a plan for achieving a 50% reduction in errors within pulling department by implementing a comprehensive approach. This involves conducting daily audits of paperwork, materials and traceability, as well as providing continuous training and coaching to associates.
Within the first 15 days on the job, assess and evaluate our correct safety and security protocols and develop a plan for ensuring these are followed by associates on an ongoing basis.
Within the first 30 days, on the job, develop a plan (along with other leaders and your team) to ensure the success of our “Customer Here” throughput program, this includes:
  • Fill Rate- 96%
  • Throughput 25 minutes
Within the first 45 days, assess where current trainees are in their training programs and prepare written suggestions for the appropriate supervisor to act on. Then, support supervisors with training and mentoring assistance to help develop our new and current associates.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITITES:
  • Assist in maintaining inventory on consumables.
  • Safely locates, identifies, and pulls material indicated on work orders using appropriate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, side loader, and scissor lifts.
  • Verifies the size of materials and products with the use of calipers, a micrometer, tape measures, and the established color-coding system.
  • Verifies that pulled material meets or exceeds Company quality standards.
  • Follow all established company safety rules.
  • Efficiently handles sheet material and safely operates cutting equipment.
  • Inspects incoming material to verify it meets company standards.
  • Coordinator of production, housekeeping, special projects and stocking to assist shift supervisor
  • Ensures that daily checklists maintained on processing equipment, forklifts, side loaders, order pickers and trucks are properly completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIESThe following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.
  • We need a leader on the 2nd shift to execute the basic functions of leadership and also someone who can streamline some of the inefficiencies to drive productively and improve morale.
  • Exercising independent judgment and decision making based on standard policy and working procedures.
  • Strong detail orientation and understanding of safe work processes and procedures.
  • Strong customer, quality and results orientation.
  • Strong understanding of metals industry and branch markets.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite computer software and IMS business systems.
  • Practice good housekeeping of the work area(s).
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
  • Practically applying proficient math skills.
  • Within 30 days, the incumbent will display practical communication skills in order to express critical information to others in a meaningful and comprehensive manner.
  • Proficiency in operating modern desktop computers, related software, and related modern office equipment.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite computer software.
  • Proficiency in utilizing IMS business systems.
  • Driving Company vehicles courteously, in compliance with all vehicle laws and regulation, and above all, with safety always in mind.
  • Operating applicable vehicles and loading machinery to include forklifts, side loaders, scissor lifts, order pickers, and overhead cranes.
REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
LICENSES CERTIFICATESThe following are the licenses and/or certificates which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • Must possess a valid California Class “C” driver’s license or equivalent, maintained throughout course of employment.
  • Must possess an OSHA Compliant Forklift/Side Loader operator certification, maintained throughout course of employment.
  • Must possess an OSHA Compliant Scissor Lift certification, maintained throughout course of employment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow differently-abled individuals to perform the essential functions of the job.
Must be able to see, hear, speak and write clearly in order to communicate with associates and/or customers; manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of small objects, and operating office equipment. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds without assistance.
