Job Description
Generally responsible for the daily flow of work or of a specific segment, such as route launch, will have input and assist in driver negotiations but under the authority/oversight of a Terminal Manager. Conducts driver negotiations and enter into tentative agreements but will not implement them without the direct approval/oversight of a Terminal Manager, or Regional Director as appropriate. Warehouse Lead is responsible for some facility P&L, but not solely responsible for the financial results outside the scope established. The full responsibility scope of the Operations Manager’s position is dependent on the size and complexity of the facility at which they are located.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists the Terminal Manager in the understanding and implementation of customer requirements including but not limited to security, handling, and packing, sorting, receiving, loading and delivering.
- Operates various equipment including but not limited to: forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and box truck to ensure products are staged or stored in appropriate locations within the warehouse.
- Assist the Terminal Manager to ensure all standard operating procedures are followed in the terminal. Makes the Terminal Manager aware of any issues or incidents that cannot be resolved with customers, employees, independent contractors, or vendors.
- Strong understanding and experience of developing and managing metric orientated logistics/warehousing/inventory management processes and the ability to measure, analyze, improve and control and take ownership of the processes.
- Knowledge of all customers, employees and independent contractors. As well as communicating a clear understanding of the customer requirements.
- Professional and appropriate interaction with independent contractors, vendors, customers and employees.
- A strong understanding of pricing, route analysis, and Xcelerator to assist in the details with Terminal Managers.
- Understanding of DOT requirements, TSA requirements and the internal resources to contact for assistance.
- Monitors and measures receiving and warehouse performance for accuracy assists in staging, sorting, loading, receiving, and delivering of various products.
- Might Drive Company leased or owned equipment to ensure customer’s needs are met.
- Willingly completes other duties as assigned to meet the strategic and operational and financial objectives of Hackbarth.
- Must be able to move appliances and lift up to 50lbs or more without accommodations.
- Must be able to operate a Pallet Jack, Dollie, and RF Scanner.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree or a Minimum of three years of experience in Logistics and Transportation Management
- Strong knowledge of transportation/courier operations.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with transportation management software. Prior use of Xcelerator or similar software package.
- Highly organized, detail oriented.
- Access to reliable transportation. If driving an automobile while on company business, must possess a valid driver’s license in state of residence and auto insurance. Must be able to pass a background check, MVR and drug screen.
