Position Summary
Warehouse Lead ensures the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods. They ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock. Plans the arrangement of goods within the warehouse and organize special requirements for certain stock as needed. Manages teams of workers and overall company forklift training and certification program. Directs drivers and dispatches daily bulk deliveries.
Position Responsibilities
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Maintains warehouse staff and drivers’ job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Maintains communication with other departments, staff groups and customers as needed.
- Controls stock control and resolves inventory discrepancy issues as identified.
- Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with automated computer management system.
- Ensuring quality, delivery, and budget objectives are met for the warehouse.
- Maintaining and managing inventory levels through automated computer management system.
- Responding to and dealing with customer communication by email, fax, and telephone as needed.
- Producing regular reports and statistics on a daily weekly and monthly basis regarding all aspects of warehouse management.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
- Oversees the planned maintenance of warehouse equipment
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Dispatches the facility’s daily bulk deliveries.
- Manages and directs both package and bulk drivers.
Minimum Requirements
- Warehouse experience
- Fork truck license or extensive experience in operating.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
