PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
This position coordinates with the Engineering Department to ensure timely shipment of track material needed for various project and/or maintenance of the roadway. This position is also responsible for the MINIMAX materials at the CDA. The Materials & Logistics Team Lead is also responsible for keeping an accurate inventory of materials stored at the Yard in the assigned yard.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Responsible for all day-to-day activities at the assigned location when the manager is in the field performing inventory audits
· Solves a range of moderately complex problems
· Operate a forklift safely
· Leads projects of limited scope and portions of larger projects
· Coordinates orders, packaging and shipping of order, and creates daily shipping plans
· Unloads material from inbound trucks and checks for defects and that the material received matches the information on the shipping papers
· Tracks physical inventories, including count of materials and CDA and other locations across the system
· Assists Manager performing physical inventories at outlying locations
· Arranges the track material in orderly storage locations and cleans trash from the property
· Communicates with field personnel to ensure correct dates and locations of deliveries
· Exemplifies CPKC Vision, Values, and Culture interactions with coworkers, business partners, customers and stakeholders
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· Completion of High School diploma
· Minimum 2-3 years of material handling or warehouse experience
· Experience operating a forklift or other heavy equipment
· This position has a regular full-time schedule with a normal work week of Monday through Friday. There may be a need for occasional work after hours or weekends.
· This position may require minimal travel up to 10% of the time

Management Conductor Program:
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
