Position Title: Logistics Technician
Location: Memphis Distribution Center Shift: 7am to 7pm Rotation
Summary: Drives industrial forklift to unload base materials, finished goods, and other supplies from delivery trucks. Stores material in warehouse and scans to location. Pulls finished goods from inventory and loads onto delivery trucks. Moves base materials to production equipment as requested.
Key Accountabilities:
- Uses forklift or hand truck to unload incoming materials and supplies (including base films, drums of ink and other chemicals, boxed polyethylene pellets, cardboard, wooden pallets, machine cylinders, etc.), checking for damage and accurately completing/processing paperwork.
- Transports materials and supplies to appropriate storage areas in warehouse, recording location and submitting information to office.
- Receives “call-out” lists for base materials, retrieves materials from storage, and loads onto trucks or transports to appropriate production area.
- Checks in materials returned from production areas, submits information to office, and returns materials to storage.
- Transports rolls of printed film to designated holding area, organizing, and stacking as needed.
- Moves finished materials to staging areas or onto trucks, accurately completing and processing paperwork.
- Repackages finished materials as needed.
- Moves other materials (including customer returns, waste materials, empty drums, etc.) to appropriate storage/holding areas, arranging or stacking in safe and orderly manner.
- Performs various inventory functions as required.
- Maintains forklift batteries and charging areas in safe and orderly manner. Changes forklift batteries using chain hoist as needed.
- Operates forklift in safe, effective manner and performs frequent safety inspections, reporting oil leaks or other malfunctions to supervisor.
- May drive pick up or bob truck to obtain or deliver materials and supplies from/to local facilities or warehouses.
- Removes trash from production floor and maintains dumpster room and other work areas in neat, orderly manner.
- Performs other related work as required.
- High school education or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read/comprehend shipping/receiving and production paperwork.
- Ability to operate a stand-up or sit-down forklift
- Satisfactory work history (including attendance and safety)
