Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for assisting in a variety of warehouse duties, including shipping and receiving, unloading, and loading trucks, fulfilling material requisitions, maintaining warehouse
inventory with correct material levels and delivery of material.
KEY INTERACTIONS
G&H employees to include executive leadership, managers, mariners, office staff, industry associates, and outside vendors
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
- Completes deliveries by driving trucks or vans to docks, placing orders in material lockers, and processing delivery tickets
- Conduct weekly cycle counts and investigate discrepancies
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Coordination, organization, planning, and time management documents such as the bill of lading, a shipping invoice, or a delivery note
- Inventory control, documentation, equipment maintenance
- Maintains inventory controls by recording and updating stock locations
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet areas, and workstations neat; maintaining a clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits
- Prepares orders by processing material requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes and placing orders in the shipping area
- Provide on-the-job training to new employees
- Requires overtime after hours, weekends, and holidays

- Unload material from the trucks and check to ensure that they match the delivery
- Verify that the delivered materials are intact and report any defects
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- A High school diploma or GED is required; extensive experience may be considered in lieu of education
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Forklift Experience
- Requires proficiency with computer hardware and software to include Microsoft Office applications, using a computer with a keyboard and mouse, navigation with a web browser, checking and sending email, and use of internet search engines
REQUIRED LICENSURE & CERTIFICATIONS
- Active and valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)

- Ability to adapt to a traditional warehouse environment and comply with OSHA standards

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Must be a team player and support the mission, vision, and goals of G&H Towing and the department
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, test resolutions, and escalate common issues
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, time management, problem-solving, and planning skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work hours will be assigned based on business needs however, work hours will typically be Monday-Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. By request from the department manager or department director. Work hours may include irregular hours to assist in completing special tasks or assignments
- Out-of-regional travel may be required to attend training, seminars, or work-related events
- Work will be performed in the office
SPECIAL PROJECTS
- Assist the executive team when requested to complete special projects and complete all assignments within a negotiated time frame established by the department manager or director
- Completion of other duties as assigned by the department manager or director as it relates to the program and position
