Form of workJOB SUMMARY: The Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing shipping, receiving, and/or stocking activities as part of the day-to-day operations of the company’s warehouse. The Warehouse Associate will be trained in all aspects of warehouse operations including stocking and maintenance of the area and will be able to function as back-up in cases of absence. Their primary function is receiving and shipping.
Receiving Responsibilities
- Review incoming packages and products for damage
- Accurately record damages and discrepancies for record keeping and accounting purposes
- Receive RMAs and distribute to designated area
- Track purchase order logs
- Reconcile receivables into appropriate software from the purchase orders
- Scan product information into database
- Convert purchase orders into purchase receipts
- Shelve stock once received and maintain an organized inventory space
- Update and alert Data Standards of weights and dims of new products for accuracy in ERP
Order Pulling Responsibilities
- Pull and review orders from designated printer
- Review orders to determine priority check for possible errors
- Highlight proper items of importance
- Pull each individual sales order according to priority
- Update purchasing of any shortages
- Sort product to be boxed
Boxing Responsibilities
- Check entire order and box according to pieces
- Verify outgoing order contents closely
- Box safely for transportation
- Record dimension on box for shipping clerk
- Maintain adequate supply of shipping materials
Shipping Responsibilities
- Accurately print and label packages for shipping
- Print customer copy of Invoice
- Seal boxes and prep for shipping
- Assign boxes to designated carrier’s shipping area
- Assist drivers with the loading and unloading of trucks
- Ship quotes.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintains correct notes and files of pertinent account information in appropriate software
- Occasionally takes telephone messages for other team members
- Check emails
- Assists with administrative duties:
- Order supplies
- Updating common warehouse documents
- Teaching and updating warehouse staff on proper way to complete task
- Combine recycled packing materials.
- Additional duties and special projects as assigned by management
OTHER JOB DUTIES/REQUIREMENTS
- Comply with warehouse safety standards
- Safe operation of an forklift, electrical walk behind forklift, pallet jack and hand truck
- Comply with annual equipment refresher training programs
- Maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse and prepare for the next day’s work
