JOB SUMMARY: Performs daily activities of operating and maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse. Unload, load, check in, stock, and organize the warehouse.
Reports To: Warehouse Lead
Responsibilities
- Load and unload vendor trucks safely and efficiently documenting all discrepancies and damage.
- Efficient fulfillment of customer orders. Picking, staging and loading of customer orders.
- Maintain accurate inventories in multiple warehouses.
- Properly document all materials on the shipping paperwork.
- Transport Materials to various locations; loading and unloading of trucks.
- Operation of a forklift in cold storage warehouses.
- Receive & put away new production in specified warehouse locations.
- Maintains housekeeping and cleanliness of the facility to meet established Food Safety expectations ensuring favorable results on all internal and third-party audits.
- May perform high stacking of palletized material in congested and busy environments.
- Required to cross-train other employees and perform other tasks as assigned by management.
- Execute cycle count inventory on a weekly basis.
- Follows established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety policies while performing job duties.
- Ensure strict adherence to the HGO's Code of Ethics and Core Values while maintaining a positive work environment.
- Other duties, responsibilities, and/or tasks as assigned.
Special Skills/Training
- Ability to read, write, and understand English. (Without an interpreter)
- Ability to work in a team environment in a positive manner of respect, cooperation & flexibility.
- Good work ethic and ability to work independently.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Contribute to a team environment leading to productivity improvements.
- Processes willingness to learn.
- Basic math skills are required.
- Basic computer skills.
Experience/Education
- Minimum High School Diploma.
- Three months of forklift experience
- 6 months of warehouse experience
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift 55 pounds repeatedly.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Prolonged standing and repetitive bending.
- Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.
Working Conditions
- Mostly inside an industrial food-grade facility.
- Smocks and hairnets (beard net if necessary) are required within the facility.
- Occasional outside work is necessary.
- There is a moderate level of noise while the plant is in production.
