About the Position
The Warehouse Associate / Delivery Driver is an essential position that supports both the field and office staff. The successful candidate will perform an array of duties that will include: Unloading, accepting and processing incoming stock and material orders, picking and packing project orders from stock to include shipping orders, managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse as needed, delivery and pickup of items from vendors and job sites while operating vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly.
Essential Duties May Include:
- Stage product and material pick up on a daily basis for multiple departments and service teams.
- Count, receive, pick, stage and distribute from stock and from special orders, in and out.
- Load and unload trucks both at the warehouse and multiple job sites.
- Verify and coordinate accuracy of all paperwork for incoming/outgoing orders.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing products and materials to ensure they are in good condition.
- Maintain inventory controls using cycle counts, data entry in accounting software and ordering stock from vendors.
- Keep shelves, pallets, racks, floors and work stations safe, neat and orderly.
- Safely transport equipment and material to each job site or warehouse location in a timely manner.
- Perform facilities maintenance, along with daily housekeeping tasks.
In the first 30 days and ongoing:
- Complete all internal training courses (Forklift safety, OSHA-10, etc.).
- Has an understanding of our paperwork processes and shows effective communication skills.
By the 3rd month and ongoing:
- Familiar with the basic plumbing and general construction material we stock in our warehouse.
- Cross trained on shipping/receiving, safely loading and securing loads and other basic warehouse duties.
By the 6th month and ongoing:
- Accurately and consistently performs all driver and warehouse duties efficiently.
- Ability to work in Foundation Software to run basic reports and inventory cycle counts.
By the 12th month and ongoing:
- Has a full understanding of their role at California Waters and how it pertains to all departments in the Company.
- Has consistently provided support to the field foremen and has continued to safely and accurately perform all duties as the driver and support the warehouse.
Important Qualifications:
- Clear California Driver's License, as this is a commercial driving position. Class B is a plus.
- Manual lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment.
- Ability to travel throughout all area of construction sites during all phases of a project.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks basic warehouse tools.
- Basic computer skills, able to use parts of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills, flexibility and ability to prioritize work assignments.
- Excellent people skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work extended hours as required by workload.
- Must be able to read, speak and write English at a fluent level. Bilingual to speak in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
