Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness,
- timeliness and condition of shipments.
- Assess current processes, make recommendations and implement improvements.
- Issue work orders or oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or
- equipment needs.
- Supervise and direct the movement of freight, stock, or other materials to and from
- storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by
- hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
- Ensure that cargo is identified and inspected before loading and unloading and compared
- to shippers.
- Ensure discrepancies are documented and handled according to proper procedure.
- Inspect material handling equipment for defects and notify maintenance accordingly.
- Compile records related to shipping and receiving.
- Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.
- Solid knowledge of logistics, JIT deliveries, coordination and organization of materials
- and equipment used in the manufacturing process.
- Supervise the completion of general yard duties, such as housekeeping, cleanup,
- inventory/material counts and general organization.
- May assist workers in shipping and receiving activities.
Computer Skills :
Nice to have / will be trained if necessary:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- ERP system
- material handling software
Certificates & Licenses :
- Fork truck license preferred.
- If proficient but not certified, we can administer the certificate training.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
