Job Description:

Our law firm is seeking a full-time administrative clerk to join our team to assist with tasks relating to our War Hazards Compensation Act division and to support the firm in other areas as needed. The ideal candidate will be dedicated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. Their primary role will be to research, review, and collect documents to prepare filings with the U.S. government. Experience in the legal field is a plus, but not required.

Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Must be highly organized, with emphasis on attention to detail, and can exercise critical thinking skills to ensure filings are completed correctly.

Key Job Duties:

  • Assist in creating filings to the U.S. government
  • Monitor filings and respond to governmental or client requests when necessary
  • Read, research, review, and verify correspondences, invoices, reports and legal documents in preparation for filing War Hazard Compensation Act submissions with the U.S. government
  • Fill out and mail forms/documents
  • Create and manage legal files in case management system (includes opening new matters, checking for potential conflicts, and data entry)

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Highschool diploma required; some college preferred
  • Strong computer literacy (proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office—specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel—is required)
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in filings and to maintain precise records
  • Ability to multitask to handle high volumes and manage other tasks as assigned
  • Ability to work independently with good time management
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate thoughts effectively
  • Accurate and efficient typing skills for data entry, correspondence drafting, and document preparation

Education:

  • Highschool or equivalent (Required)
