The Wall Panel Designer will prepare Wall Panel layouts and cut sheets per architectural and structural plans in a timely and efficient manner.
Essential duties
- Read and interpret construction documents and blueprints.
- Assist with developing and completing design details from original concept drawings and prepare Wall Panel layouts.
- Generate Wall Panel placement plan and Wall Panel shop drawings per architectural and structural drawings.
- Ensure conformance to all relevant building requirements, customer requirements and municipality building codes, when applicable.
- Interpret and manage design requirements as indicated by procedures, design manuals, and other applicable specifications, and provide updates and revisions to internal processes and documentation (as needed).
- Meet with customers via Microsoft Teams or in person at job sites.
- Assist in the bidding and estimating of Wall Panel Jobs.
- Review design(s) for most efficient and profitable use of inventory, equipment, and manpower as time permits.
- Ensure designs are accurate, optimized, and conforms to standards.
- Develop and recommend implementation of new or adaptation of existing policies, practices, procedures, and techniques.
- Personally, provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the Company’s safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Competencies, and Personal Attributes
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical
instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Min 3 years' Experience in Wall Panel Design (HSBCAD Preferred)
- Roof and Floor Truss Design experience preferred but not required
- Advanced computer skills and mathematics
- Solid Experience and Background working with current CAD Programs
Work Environment:
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. Moderate noise (examples: business office equipment like printers, light traffic).
Physical Demands:
This is a sedentary role. It requires close vision, color vision and depth perception three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, talk, and hear.
