Job Title: Waitress/Waiter (Customer Service and Upselling Focus)

At Sumtin 2 Eat, we're seeking a dynamic and personable individual to join our team as a Waitress/Waiter. As an integral part of our soul food restaurant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and maximizing sales through effective upselling techniques. Responsibilities:

1. Greet and seat guests promptly with a warm and friendly demeanor.

2. Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.

3. Provide detailed descriptions of menu items, including specials and promotions, and make recommendations to guests.

4. Upsell additional items such as appetizers, desserts, and specialty beverages to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.

5. Ensure order accuracy and timely delivery of food and drinks to tables.

6. Monitor guest satisfaction and promptly address any concerns or special requests.

7. Anticipate guests' needs and provide attentive service throughout their dining experience.

8. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and condiment stations.

9. Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient service.

10. Process guest payments accurately and efficiently, including handling cash and processing credit card transactions.

11. Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned by management.

12. Continuously strive to meet and exceed sales targets and customer service goals.

Qualifications:

1. Previous experience in a customer service-oriented role, preferably in the restaurant industry.

2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality.

3. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and multitask with attention to detail.

4. Basic math skills for processing orders and handling payments.

5. Knowledge of soul food cuisine is a plus but not required; willingness to learn and become familiar with the menu.

6. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

7. Must be reliable, punctual, and maintain a professional appearance at all times.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
