Description

Job Overview:

We are looking to employ a detail-oriented and experienced Production Planner to create, modify, and manage production schedules. You will be the one to ensure our goods are produced on time for distribution in a profitable planner. An excellent Production Planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. They are organized and results-driven, with excellent problem-solving skills. Advanced communication and computer skills are beneficial for the role.

The Production Planner’s responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, regularly providing production status updates to management, and facilitating the timely delivery of products to customers. You should also be able to closely monitor the production process to ensure that production orders are completed on time and within budget.

A Production Planner, or Production Scheduler, manages the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to ensure the company meets all deadlines. These duties include managing material and equipment availability, scheduling production, and monitoring the production process for problems.

To be successful as a Production Planner, you should be knowledgeable of material requirements planning and able to manage production deadlines. An exceptional Production Planner should demonstrate excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure that production operations run smoothly.

The goal is to ensure our production operations' smooth and cost-efficient flow.

Please note this role is in Cartersville, GA, relocation is provided.
 

 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Responsible for the overall production, capacity, material planning, purchasing, warehousing, inventory control, and scheduling activities to maximize schedule adherence, customer service, and delivery.

·        Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products.

·        Manage the production team so that scheduled goals are met.

·        Effecting changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.

·        Leads organization in attaining key metrics, including working capital, inventory turns, days on hand, on-time delivery, and schedule adherence.

·        Understands department's key performance indicators and contributes to achieving these goals both individually and as a team.

·        Evaluating raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production.

·        Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.

·        Coordinating production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.

·        Traces the history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.

·        Using market forecasts and competitive analysis to anticipate necessary production changes.

·        Responsible for a formalized inventory cycle count control system to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity.

·        Watching costs to ensure the production process stays within budget.

·        Manage and flex material demand and flow through the purchasing program, allowing for forecast fluctuation and managing the business's growth while ensuring the timely availability of components.

·        Determine human resources, equipment, and raw materials needed to cover production demand.

·        Evaluating purchase orders to create suitable production schedules.

·        Estimating the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production.

·        Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget.

·        Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives, etc.).

·        Reporting on the production status and any production issues to upper management.

·        Prepare and submit status and performance reports.

·        Keep paperwork organized.

·        Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.

·        Develop and maintain close working relationships with other departments to ensure cohesiveness within the plant.

·        Collaborate with quality control, warehouse, and other staff.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications and Skills

·        1-4 years experience related to production planning in the manufacturing industry.

·        Proven experience as a Production Planner.

·        Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.

·        Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.

·        Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills.

·        Technical skills using material requirements planning and scheduling software.

·        Good at math and statistics.

·        Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.

·        Excellent communication abilities.

·        Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees.

·        Self-starter, able to work with or lead cross-functional teams.

·        Organizational and time-management skills.

·        Must be able to work under minimal direct supervision and be willing to take initiative to resolve problems and to help revise and upgrade processes.

·        Ability to travel overseas as required.

·        English skills are needed.

 

 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·        A bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, business management, or a related field is preferred.

·        Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the solar or semiconductor manufacturing industry.

·        Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in production planning experience in the manufacturing industry.

·        Strong knowledge of materials and inventory control in manufacturing environments, including various levels of planning from Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) to execution and control of production activity, transactional management, ECO implementation,Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Kanban, purchasing, warehousing, inventory control, scheduling, shipping and/or logistics.

·        Knowledge of relevant manufacturing and processes related to the solar or semiconductor industry.

·        Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
