The Production Planner is responsible for oversight of the overall production scheduling process, optimizing the timing of such to maximize efficiency and to meet production deadlines. The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating the management of supply and demand of raw materials and inventory levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the production schedules to meet customer demand and inventory goals while maximizing efficiency.
- Manage the supply and demand of raw materials including packaging materials; coordinate the order quantity and time of order with the Purchasing & Logistics department.
- Identify suitable substitutes for various raw material items.
- Analyze production data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction.
- Assist in the development and implementation of production planning strategies and policies.
- Expedite and prioritize work orders and coordinate daily production schedule meetings.
- Interface with manufacturing personnel, purchasing personnel, etc. on material status and production planning issues.
- Responsible for following all internal and OSHA-required safety procedures.
- Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Able to speak effectively before groups of customers, suppliers, and employees of the organization.
- Maintains adherence to company policies, safety/ergonomic standards, and good housekeeping practices.
- Protect our customers to ensure each product meets established quality standards of zero-conformances.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position.
Monday-Friday, core work hours 1st shift
Flexible hours to be available.
Must be available to work weekends when requested by Supervisor.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree supply chain management, operations management, or a related field.
- Previous experience in production planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in production planning software and ERP
- Exposure to statistical data analysis and/or problem-solving techniques.
Preferred/Desired:
- A minimum of 3 years of production planning experience.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in polymer manufacturing.
- Have a strong desire for personal and professional development.
