As a VPK Teacher, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the early development and education of young children. This position specifically focuses on providing instruction and guidance to children enrolled in the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program, which is designed to prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities based on the VPK curriculum guidelines.
Create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
Incorporate various teaching methodologies and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
Classroom Management:Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning.
Establish and enforce rules and procedures to encourage positive behavior and discipline.
Foster a culture of respect, inclusivity, and cooperation among students.
Individualized Instruction and Assessment:Identify the strengths and weaknesses of each child and tailor instruction to meet their individual needs.
Conduct ongoing assessments and observations to monitor the progress of each child.
Provide feedback and report student progress to parents or guardians regularly.
Collaboration and Communication:Collaborate with other VPK teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote a cohesive learning environment.
Communicate effectively with parents or guardians, sharing updates on their child's development, progress, and any concerns.
Attend meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with best practices.
Child Care and Safety:Ensure the physical safety and well-being of all children in the classroom.
Assist with tasks such as feeding, diapering, and managing transitions between activities.
Follow all applicable policies and procedures related to child protection and emergency protocols.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
