Leads a team of Market Access Strategy and Americas regional Market Access professionals who will 1) work across geographies to develop Market Access (coverage, reimbursement and pricing) strategies to drive medical and public policy for Cepheid's main clinical applications in Infectious Diseases, Sexual and Women's Health, Health-related Acquired Infections and Oncology, 2) oversee the strategic, functional and budget planning for the Government Affairs and Market Access (GAMA) team and apply Danaher's Business Systems (DBS) principles to drive performance and 3) lead the Americas regional Market Access team responsible for driving engagements with payers, the commercial organization and, when needed, our laboratory customers. The integration between strategy and Regional Market Access teams must be seamless as the Americas, especially the US, is a major partner for the strategy team considering the impact on business. The position will report to the SVP of Government Affairs and Market Access.

The salary range for this role is 240K - 310K . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership
- Direct leadership of strategy regional Market Access professionals
- Cross functional leadership to give input, align with and challenge, where appropriate, Product Management, Marketing and New Product Development & MedSci plans
- Oversee the development of Market Access strategy (Landscape, customers and stakeholders, payer segments, value messaging, data gaps and resource allocation) for priority products and identifies all the levers necessary for the success of that strategy e.g., clinical guidelines, clinical and economic utility thresholds...etc.
- In coordination with MedSci and HEOR, oversee the development of value story elements necessary for reimbursement and Health Technology Assessment submissions in priority markets.
- Ensure the engagement of regional Market Access teams through input into strategy development, regular meetings, launch preparation and the roll-out of Market Access plans with other GAMA functions and cross-functionally outside GAMA.
- Oversee GAMA strategic and functional planning, budget, meeting calendar and tracking of coverage and reimbursement trends in priority markets.
- Decide on team priorities and what not to do.
- Be accountable for the utilization of Danaher Business System within GAMA
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience (in years):
- A bachelor's degree with 20 year or a master's degree/ Ph.D. with at least 15 years of relevant experience in health policy, biological sciences or relevant field
Knowledge and skills:
- Strong leadership, management, organizational, communication, negotiation and business development skills
- Must be able to handle multiple projects/products, be action-oriented, and engage effectively with cross-functional groups and senior management as appropriate.
- Understands healthcare systems in priority markets and coverage and reimbursement mechanisms for molecular and/or laboratory diagnostics
- Exceptional influence and communication skills
- Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information to scientific and non-scientific colleagues
- Ability to analyze coverage and reimbursement trends and impact on Cepheid
- PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working with laboratories, diagnostics, or medical device manufacturers
- Experience with infectious disease, women's and sexual health, healthcare acquired infections and/or oncology
- Experience working at a payer/health plan
- Experience with health care quality metrics and programs
- Experience with CPT coding
