SUMMARY
Alimera Sciences, Inc. is a global pharmaceutical company whose mission is to be invaluable to patients, physicians, and partners concerned with retinal health and maintaining better vision longer. As a team with a commitment to solutions in retina care and a strong growth potential we are searching for the right individual to fill a critical position in the commercial organization - VP, US Sales.
The VP, US Sales is responsible for meeting and exceeding portfolio revenue and sales goals for the United States region. S/he is responsible and accountable for executing the US commercial strategy and must be an effective and motivational leader with a passion for the Retina/Ophthalmology space and demonstrates a desire for developing high performance teams.
S/he is an external customer-centric individual, proficient in high-level, VIP customer engagement and comfortable with complex account management. S/he will direct two Sales Analysts, US Trainer, and six Regional Sales Directors, and interface across multiple functions (Training, Marketing, Managed Markets, Medical, TLL, Executive Management) with conviction to change provider behavior for the good of the patient. Ultimately the VP, US Sales will be measured on their ability to attain financial goals while successfully developing their team and supporting our culture through skilled leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Meet and exceed US Sales objectives.
- Develop and execute the US sales force annual operating plan, including programs and initiatives.
- Recruit, hire and develop the US sales force personnel supporting the US commercial deployment plan.
- Constructs positive high performing teams.
- Optimize the sales force organizational structure.
- Design sales compensation and incentive programs to motivate and enhance engagement.
- Define and coordinate sales training and selling models that enhance sales potential.
- Work closely with the medical and marketing functions to establish successful support and pull through of programs.
- Analyze, understand, and act on key quantitative trends.
- Able to effectively communicate analytics, trends, and status updates to executive management.
- Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting.
- Operate the US Sales organization budget.
- Proactively cultivate a culture of trust, empowerment, performance, and accountability.

Supervisory Responsibility
Field management, sales analysts, sales trainer, and approximately 40-person field sales team. Must be able to work cooperatively and gain buy in from internal and field functions (Payer, Reimbursement, TLL, MSL).
Work Environment
Very fast paced, heavy workload with substantial field travel necessary. Regular facetime with internal colleagues required.
Required Work Experience
At least 10 years’ experience in leading subspecialty buy and bill sales organizations, preferable in Ophthalmology and Retina. Proven success across multiple teams, leading managers of individual contributors. A skilled coach that is proficient at attracting and developing talent.
