The Vice President Strategic Growth & Technical Development is responsible for leadership in three key areas for our business.

  • The candidate leads a team of technical sales and business development professionals who are responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with entities generally known as licensors as well as engineering companies (ECP). These licensors and ECP's write the technical specifications for filtration, separation, purification solution RFP's on behalf of end users, typically for large capital projects around the world. The candidate will lead a director who in turn has a team of direct reports responsible for successful performance
  • The candidate leads a team of scientists and subject matter experts who will support the aforementioned team of business development professionals by providing expert scientific guidance in target applications and technologies. Among other things, this team will help to identify gaps in the current portfolio and drive the technology roadmaps by interfacing with the product management team and their business development partners.
  • The candidate will be responsible to serve as the BU Liaison which is a newly created role as part of the new centrally organized R&D team for Pall Corporation. The ideal candidate has the capability and the technical competency commensurate with the role. The person will have visibility to ALL the work in R&D for the BU; knows the customers and the application relevant to that BU; capable of strategic prioritization for the BU - working together with the GM (and CTO). Is experienced, aware of BU priorities and is accountable to BU GM for the IPV and RA

This role will have the responsibility to collaborate across the organization and with multiple cross - functional teams to get results through direct and indirect influence.
This position is part of the FTAP leadership team and will be a hybrid role with a preference of Port Washington NY with secondary options of Deland Fl, or Cortland NY
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Provide overall input and leadership for Win The Spec initiatives by contributing to the planning and recommendation of strategies to achieve maximum penetration consistent with Pall 's financial, tactical and Strategic Growth targets.
  • Create an environment where innovation thrives, and new ideas can be shaped into business opportunities. Support the global FTAP Initiatives and drive Pall products being specified in customers' First Fit requirements.
  • Manage and analyze market intelligence data to ensure market opportunities are capitalized on as they occur and minimize the effects of competitive activity in close cooperation with the VP Portfolio Management, VP Global Sales, and the VP/GM of the BU
  • Through critical insight on customer processes, support team to formulate strategies to develop and support solutions that meet or exceed customers' needs and expectations and simultaneously expand FTAP's business by gaining market share in Growth Markets and our A+B customers.
  • Support sales funnel reviews and ensure reporting of all business opportunities, solution concepts and strategies to Pall management through the use of CRM as well as Growth Rooms and provide voice of customer and applications feedback to product development teams.
  • Communicate business strategy and tactics clearly to team and provide feedback to colleagues, the management team and other Pall teams on progress, opportunities and challenges.
  • Demonstrated expertise with the Danaher Business Systems tools or similar systems, such Problem-Solving Process (PSP) and using Voice of Customer to address business issues, use of Kaizen Tools and introduction of standard work to continuously improve business processes and results.
  • People Leader Responsibilities - Partner closely with the human resources to manage and support full life cycle of organizational staffing including but not limited to all talent management, engagement, succession planning and the performance and development planning process. Create trusted relationships with your team members.

The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, marketing, sales or related area required. MBA preferred, Plus 10 years of experience in commercializing new technologies and/or developing new market entry tactics, and/or developing new markets
  • Strong research and analytical skills to identify emerging gaps or opportunities in the marketplace
  • Extensive experience with demanding work characterized by high rates of change, growth, and accomplishment.
  • Solid track record of sales team exceeding targets and building and maintaining long-term customer relationships at all levels in an organization, including C-suite decision-makers
  • Strong financial acumen in delivering business results by overseeing budgeting, sales funnel management, financial planning, and reporting
  • At ease executing comprehensive growth strategy; identifying short and long term market needs and opportunities; can quickly pivot value proposition and sales models to accelerate growth and is able to work across an organization, collaborate and both directly / indirectly influence others.
  • Solid negotiations skills with the ability to assess situations, formulate decisions and take action quickly. A seasoned business person who understands how to generate net profit and has the ability to deliver through people. Willing to challenge the status quo and think creatively.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Prior knowledge within FTAP industry and displaying the ability to work the network expediently and independently.
  • Ability to lead teams, as well as, collaborate with stakeholders across the organization and externally.
  • Proven ability to hire, develop, manage and retain leading sales professionals.
  • A teammate who is results oriented with a communication style and personal dynamic that cultivates an atmosphere of collegiality and consultative management towards common goals.
  • Strategic expertise in Go-to-Market sales strategies, customer support, and business development.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement in which you can work part-time at the Company location identified above and part-time remotely from your home. The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $183,000-215,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
