The Vice President of Strategic Account Management delivers on the company’s value proposition to its clients through strategy, client development and through the leadership of a team Strategic Account Management professionals in the West Region, in support of the total account management effort to achieve the revenue, growth, and retention goals of PharMerica.


    • Develop strategies that result in retention of PharMerica Clients. This includes partnering with the operations team in communicating contractual requirements of PharMerica Clients, and assuring client satisfaction through routine feedback from the client and operations.  The VP of Strategic Account Management also leverages these internal partners to trend and analyze the risks of the internal and external business environment.  Successful management of a Book of Business and effectively forecasting retention efforts to adapt to various changing business conditions.
    • Develop effective, coordinated regional strategies with Directors, Account Managers, Operations and Sales to support implementation of new clients and ensure overall client satisfaction of established clients.
    • Implements strategies to retain clients through understanding their needs and expectations, fostering strong collaborative partnerships (C-suite and Regional Leadership) and leveraging PharMerica resources and value propositon to ensure an optimized pharmacy services experience.
    • Responsible for coaching and developing the West Strategic Account Management team to use an advanced, consultative, and strategic account management approach to develop exceptional client relationships with PharMerica’s Clients.
    • Provides strong leadership to West Strategic Account Management team to promote and deliver targeted PharMerica product solutions in cost containment, medication availability, and compliance and education. Creates strategic Client Management plans and communicates these plans throughout the team.
    • Manages a budget for team which includes the annual budgeting process to assess department needs. This includes working with direct reports to manage P&L and control expenses.
    • Partner with Human Resources, to recruit, motivate, and mentor Account Management professionals to achieve performance and organizational goals through developing metrics to measure performance.
    • Protects overall revenue in the Book of Business and strategizes with other disciplines (credit/collections, contracting, and marketing) to assure that corporate billing and receivable standards are achieved.
    • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.

  • Education/Learning Experience
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Management or related field
  • Desired: MBA

 

  • Work Experience
  • Required: 7-10 years of account management experience leading teams that serve complex clients who have multiple points of service: C-Suite, SVP, VP, etc.
  • Desired: Pharmacy experience and leading pharmacy services organizations and clients in Skilled Nursing and other post-acute venues of care

 

  • Skills/Knowledge
  • Required: P&L financial knowledge and budgeting, MS Office, excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Desired: Excellent leadership, management, and financial skills; plan analysis/business planning skills; experience developing STRATEGIC ACCOUNTS and teams supporting STRATEGIC ACCOUNTS and C-suite relationships
