Our Actuarial department is a dynamic group of professionals focusing on pricing, reserving, and data analysis for all written lines of business. The actuarial team creates, maintains and updates pricing models for underwriters to utilize; creates reserving estimates for all lines of business and assists with financial- and claims-related items, helping the organization to succeed using our insurance expertise. Role Description:
In the role of VP & Senior Pricing Actuary-Treaty Reinsurance(internally known as, VP & Senior Pricing Actuary-Treaty Reinsurance), you will be responsible for providing Pricing Analyses and Technical Support for Professional Liability, Management Liability, Medical Malpractice, and Other Casualty Treaty Reinsurance accounts.
Your day-to-day responsibilities as a VP & Senior Pricing Actuary-Treaty Reinsurance will include:
- Lead actuary - Price accounts and make rate recommendations to facilitate profitability.
- Document pricing assumptions and work collaboratively with underwriters.
- Assist with new product development and help develop innovative pricing solutions.
- Participate in the Treaty Reinsurance Pricing Committee, as requested.
- Stay on top of key emerging trends and incorporate into pricing parameters and analyses.
- Update pricing parameters including loss trends, development factors, rate changes, exposure curves on a regular basis.
- Analyze underwriting results and assist with management information reports.
- Attend underwriting and claims audits of client insurers.
- Train or consult with actuarial staff on how to utilize Professional Liability/Management Liability pricing models and peer review their work as necessary.
- Assist with financial planning, SWOT Analyses, and Tactical Plan.
- Review contract wording and ensure it matches pricing assumptions.

Qualifications:
Education:
- A degree type in Bachelor's degree or a related field is required.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate or Fellow of Casualty Actuarial Society
- 10+ years of experience in reinsurance treaty pricing for P/L, M/L, M/M, and Other Casualty treaties
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, other Microsoft software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to python, R, and SQL is a plus
- Strong oral and written communication skills

The target salary range for this position is $164,000 to $263,000 It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
