The VP Professional Services is responsible for all aspects of operational and strategic leadership of Skedulo’s global professional services team. They will work closely with our Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Solution Architecture, Tech Support & Customer Success Teams and will be based in our US region. Key objectives and responsibilities will include:
High Level Job Functions:
● Management of Professional Services regional leaders & technical leadership
● Strategy for our Professional Services including alignment to company strategy and vision
● Leadership for the global Professional Services team:
○ Project Management
○ Implementation Consulting
○ Technical Project Delivery
○ Change & Benefits Management Advisory
● Presales approval of estimation & quoting of Professional Services engagements for new and existing customers
● Budget & corresponding Financial targets for Professional Services
● Recruitment
● Escalation Management
● Leading the development of a comprehensive Professional Services strategy aligned with Skedulo business objectives, including scaling our Professional Services team (currently ~100 staff) in line with typical efficiency and performance expectations of a Series C funded company professional services team.
● Leading project delivery excellence; mentoring the delivery leadership team on efficient delivery methodologies that support customers in achieving their project goals & true customer value.
● Providing input into broader Customer Experience strategic direction; planning, mentoring and leading teams in realization of objectives to deliver on the strategy.
● Building trusted relationships internally with other departments and with customers, communicating the value of our services to our customers, whilst gaining their feedback to drive increases in customer satisfaction and engagement.
● Report on professional services department performance to ensure team accountability and quality of service, including quality of technical delivery such as code standards and frameworks and alignment to Skedulo core product best practices
● Building and maintaining an amazing professional services team culture and and team morale
● Joint strategy & close working relationship with our Solution Architecture team, who are responsible for scoping new engagements & architecting the solution blueprints that we deliver our services projects on top of (they are a separate Department, but effectively an extension arm of the Professional Services team).
● Review and approval of detailed Statements of Work outlining the design and scope of solutions to be delivered to prospective customers (these are primarily completed by our Solution Architecture team, which works very closely with our professional services leadership)
● Work closely with the Sales Team to understand market-competitive services pricing, and enable them to position our services team value proposition and close deals with prospects.
● Work closely with the Engineering, Product Development and Design teams to identify and log potential new features for inclusion in core product, and also transfer over to Product team any potentially useful code assets/extensions that Delivery have built through the course of project delivery work.
● Leads the Professional Services team recruitment, onboarding, training, professional development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising and rewarding performance.
Requirements
● A minimum of 10 years leading large professional services teams within SaaS organizations at a senior leadership level (or similar related leadership experience if less than 10 years), delivering projects of complex customization.
● Experience working with distributed and global teams
● Experience working across pre-sales and post-sales, and demonstrated experience supporting the value proposition of selling professional services to prospects
● Experience managing a profit & loss budget for professional services teams with demonstrated ability to run a profitable team
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
● Ability to learn new products, develop functional knowledge and apply new skills in a high paced environment.
● Experience building strong project & technical delivery teams
● Enjoy problem solving while learning, developing and applying new skills along the way
● Experience in delivering services involving the Salesforce Platform, or SaaS products more broadly that require complex customization.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position will require no more than 20% travel from time to time as set forth by the Company.
- Must have a valid US work visa upon hire to be considered for this position.
- Must have reliable internet connection and an at home workstation setup. (For remote positions)
The Base Pay Range for this position is between $220,000 to $270,000 with a variable bonus component. The exact amount will depend on level of experience and location.
