- Taking an ‘outside-in' approach, understand the unmet needs and problem space of agencies and marketers, generate previously unimagined possibilities, and drive the adoption of new products streamlining media buying.
- Own and drive the vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution to deliver products to market.
- Bring your creative thinking, knowledge of industry practices, and innovation to drive integrated solutions (technology, process, and data) across product development.
- Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals.
- Develop detailed business requirements, user stories, and product specifications to be used to develop technical architecture and plans.
- Work with marketing, account development, and sales to execute the go to market strategy.
- Define the key inputs for your product and your success KPI metrics, establishing processes and mechanisms to effectively grow and manage your programs and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on product vision and product roadmap and driving product-market fit
- Communicate effectively, partnering effectively with other leaders in product, design, engineering, science and business intelligence to influence priorities and drive alignment.
- Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external customers.
- Manage dependencies with other aspects of Viant DSP's technical environment; and, working cross-functionally, track development against the expected deliverables, and continually ship client-valuable functionality to a successful outcome.
- Perform competitive research understanding offerings within the DSP and adjacent markets.
- Build, mentor, and grow a team of product managers, while also expanding existing product workstreams.
- 10+ years of experience in product focused leadership roles at a software, SaaS, MarTech, or Adtech company
- Experience owning a product strategy from concept to launch, with proven experience incorporating business model creation, product roadmaps, customer interviews, test/beta of concepts, and successful launches to market
- Product management experience and fluency in writing product requirements and design documents, and working with engineering, design, analytics, and data science teams.
- Past success managing complex internet software development cycles, and API/spec integrations, within medium to large organizations, with the ability to decide when to build, and when to partner.
- Expertise in digital formats, and channels, from display to video, audio, search, social, etc. regardless of device, including addressable TV.
- Deep understanding of digital media's functional landscape from planning, to buying, to measurement. Solid grasp of the ecosystem value chain from marketers to ad tech intermediaries in media, data, identity, measurement, cloud, and technology providers, all the way to publishers.
- 3+ years of people management experience.
- Technical and able to garner respect from engineers.
- Ability to simplify and communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- BA/BS required.
- AdTech experience strongly preferred
