The Vice President of Sales is responsible for the growth and project management of the business relationships and teams and oversees daily sales activity, leads a sales team, meets with major clients, produces sales reports, designs new and more effective sales strategies, and works to market and promote company products and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base.
- Set short and long-term sales strategies and evaluate the effectiveness of current sales programs and team.
- Perform leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws; responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Implement and set sales objectives and initiatives.
- Recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
- Define territory and act as an escalation point for sales team and customers
- Create and deliver face-to-face sales presentations that sell the benefits of our products and services.
- Develop the sales territory, including cultivation of local partnerships and organizational affiliations.
- Actively generate new leads with targeted businesses through various prospecting activities, including networking, cold calling, canvassing, customer referrals, and partner relationships.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations.
- Increase client base and revenue penetration with existing and new properties.
- Draft and reviewing contracts.
- Report on successes and areas needing improvements.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
- Demonstrable experience as head of Sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
- Previous experience as a sales executive, sales manager or sales and marketing director
- Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
- Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services and position against competitors
- Must have valid non-restricted driver's license in the assigned state and be able to legally drive and provide own transportation to various locations in organizational service area
