Job Title: VP of Operations

Location: Centennial, CO (hybrid)

Role Summary:

The VP of Operations is a key part of our senior leadership team and initially reports to the CEO of Iontra. This role will be responsible for developing the infrastructure and managing the day-to-day operations of Iontra's battery cycling operations, electrochemical testing and analytics, data analytics, inbound and outbound logistics, warehouse, all facilities, remote and onsite support for the operation of Iontra equipment at customer and other locations, and after-sales support of other Iontra products.

Given the diverse set of execution-focused, customer-facing functions for which this role is responsible, it is most critical for the person applying for this role to have deep expertise in Lean Six Sigma and to be the embodiment of continuous improvement. Building and coaching the team, developing operating processes and systems, and driving improvements and team accountabilities to achieve first-time quality in all we do is the goal.

As Iontra is a highly technical business, having an engineering degree and/or experiences will helpful. This full-time role is located in Centennial, CO in a fast-paced startup environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Analyze Iontra's enterprise plan and forecast growth and develop the strategic plan for Iontra's operations and analytics departments.
  • Develop the quality management systems required to meet requirements by customers and to achieve 1st time quality in all Iontra's operations and analytics work.
  • Develop, train and maintain Iontra's Lean Six Sigma culture, operating standards and practices throughout the organization.
  • Foster a culture of safety and sustainability in all operations activities.
  • Develop a customer mindset across the operations team.
  • Ensure the required, facilities, equipment, team and related skills and processes, procedures and accountabilities are in place to execute on commitments to external and internal customers with 1st time quality.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to the team to meet defined goals.
  • Behave consistently with Iontra's values and proactively communicate status, issues and opportunities with Iontra's CEO and other SLT members.
  • Continuously evaluate and drive improvements in operations and analytics practices, processes, procedures, tools, and department organization structure.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with the other leadership team members and maintains a system of regular communication of company objectives, changes, and area concerns.
  • Develop a detailed and accurate budget and conduct ongoing financial/operating analysis to prioritize improvements and to anticipate changes to the operations needed to support changes in the business and enterprise growth plans.
  • Work with the product development team early in the requirements and design process to ensure platforms and tools are being designed and developed to facilitate efficient and safe use in Iontra and customer operations (design for manufacturing / design for operations).
  • Collaborate with Iontra's supply chain team to plan equipment delivery, installation and training at Iontra and customer sites.
  • Initiate and lead ongoing cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to the operations team and SLT to assess performance and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, quality standards, and industry certifications.

Requirements

You'll Need These Qualifications:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, or similar field with 10+ years of relevant experience in an industrial setting.
  • 10+ years of experience leading operations departments, divisions, and business units.
  • Considered an expert by embodying Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement methodologies, and other process optimization frameworks is required.
  • Batch processing and mass customization experience that combines the efficiencies of mass production with the ability to customize individual products according to customer specifications is required.
  • Lead Change Management to include monitoring and supervising changes to business processes and systems technology, job roles, and structures within the organization, ensuring that staff members embrace the change and ensuring that change projects are implemented on time and within budget.
  • Has a continuous improvement mind-set with a passion for driving waste out of the business.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree.
  • Experience working with battery technologies is a plus.

Salary Range: $190k - $210k (salary is based on education, experience, skillset, and market value).
