We are searching for a senior communications leader to oversee Employee Engagement, Executive Communications, and Editorial. GM is in the midst of an historic transformation and we need a dynamic leader who thrives in ambiguity and can help stand up a new team that will have a huge impact on our future success. We are looking for a strategic thought partner, bold leader, and team player – someone who will bring rigor, alignment, and joy to the team and workplace.

Responsibilities  

  • Build out an integrated Internal and Executive Communications team to help support our incredible leaders in communicating the company’s vision, business priorities, and culture transformation  
  • Oversee new Editorial team and develop GM thought leadership and cultural relevancy through owned content 
  • Create an Employee Engagement strategy that connects our teams and improves company culture and employer brand 
  • Modernize our communications through effective digital platforms, owned content, and social media 
  • Act as senior advisor to company executives on a wide range of communications issues and influence stakeholders throughout the org 
  • Develop and mentor the next generation of GM communications leaders 

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s Degree at a minimum 
  • 20+ years working in communications at scale with leadership experience at a public, global company 
  • Expertise across internal comms, executive comms, external comms, and Editorial  
  • Tenured experience with large, complex organizational change management and the development and execution of communications strategy with proven results 
  • Broad thinker with strong grasp of macroeconomic and global political climate 
  • Track record of working closely with C-suite executives across the business and gaining their trust 
  • Excellent writing and thinking skills 
  • Strong project and people management skills 
  • Entrepreneurial drive and self-starter mentality 
  • Sense of urgency, ability to problem-solve under pressure, and passion for communications

Additional Description

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington. 
• The salary range for this role is $300,000-$400,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
• Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
