POSITION OVERVIEW
Global Atlantic Financial Company is seeking a candidate for the position of Vice President, Investment Analytics. Responsibilities include:
  • Develop tools and analytics to help manage the allocation of investment strategies to enable the company to meet its risk and financial objectives.
  • Work closely with the Asset Allocation team in the construction of portfolios for reinsurance blocks.
  • Deliver enhancements to the asset projection framework for new asset types and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Sector analytics team to ensure that investments are properly modeled with the appropriate sensitivities under the regulatory scenarios.
  • Run and deliver projections of asset performance under the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) regulatory scenarios as part of quarterly close process.
  • Construct an attribution framework of changes in results due to portfolio and market changes.
  • Keep up to date on the latest development to the regulatory regime and developing impact analysis on potential portfolio implications and opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Actuarial Science, Quantitative Finance, Financial Mathematics, or a related quantitative field plus five (5) years of experience in institutional insurance products.
  • Prior experience must include five (5) years in each of the following:
    • Working with institutional insurance products, including reinsurance transactions, to provide capital and risk-management solutions to institutional clients.
    • Performing long-term projections of financial statements under U.S. for institutional investment products, including balance sheet and income statement.
    • Supporting capital requirement projection of insurance blocks by calculating the required level of capital to support the insurance blocks under both deterministic and stochastic scenarios.
    • Actuarial modeling of insurance liabilities involving projecting future liability cash flows and estimating net present value of future liabilities.
    • Explaining and communicating analysis to corporate partners by delivering presentations to Chief Actuary, Business, Risk, Treasurer. Collaborating with corporate partners, including Portfolio Managers, Business, and Risk.
  • Prior experience must include three (3) years in each of the following:
    • Working in cash fixed income markets to test asset strategies to back insurance liabilities.
    • Applying knowledge of insurance financial concepts and applications under U.S. and Bermuda, including Statutory Standards, Risk Based Capital, Scenario Based Approach, Bermuda Solvency Capital Requirement to generate financials under both U.S. and Bermuda frameworks.
    • Applying asset modeling for asset performance projection, including structured products.
    • Analyzing asset performance under both US and Bermuda regulatory framework.
    • Applying portfolio optimization to construct optimal asset mix for insurance block.
    • Utilizing Asset Liability Management techniques to address risk for insurance blocks.
    • Performing long-term projections of financial statements under Bermuda for institutional investment products, including best estimate liability and economic balance sheet.
    • Utilizing Python programming skills to extend existing analytical capabilities and streamline workflows.
