Overview

As our Vice President for Tax, you will lead the tax function for HireRight and report to the Chief Accounting Officer. You will be responsible for all direct and indirect tax reporting and compliance across the globe, along with tax planning, risk management and tax accounting.You will lead a team of tax professionals and manage our outsourced vendor partner. You will also be responsible for liaising with our leadership team as well as our third-party advisors. Additionally, you will foster a culture of excellence and collaboration within our tax team.Our Vice President, Global Tax should have proven experience with domestic, foreign, state and local corporate income tax planning, compliance and audits, indirect tax matters including state and local sales and use tax, VAT/GST, transfer pricing, and M&A transactions. Additionally, you will ensure that tax matters are accounted for according to US GAAP.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate tax accounting under US GAAP
  • Oversee efficient and accurate global direct and indirect tax compliance
  • Develop and lead tax strategy, assessing the tax impact of critical initiatives and driving tax decision making that improves shareholder value
  • Drive efficient and accurate tax processes including automation and tax-specific technology tools
  • Manage tax due diligence, structuring, tax efficient financing, and integration aspects of M&A transactions
  • Review internal transfer pricing policies; oversee preparation of all required documentation necessary to comply with global transfer pricing standards and to support intra-group transactions
  • Update Senior Management and Audit Committee of Board of Directors on tax rate forecasts, legislative developments, and other critical tax matters
  • Ensure documentation and appropriate support for technical positions
  • Ensure each Tax Team member has a development plan and continues to grow in their career
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of tax experience, with a combination of Big 4 public accounting firm experience and global company experience
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of leadership experience
  • Bachelor's Degree with accounting emphasis. MBT or other advanced tax courses a plus. CPA and/or law degree preferred
  • Proven ability to translate complex tax issues and requirements to people without tax backgrounds
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to inspire confidence among our tax team, senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Strong team building experience
  • Passion for process improvement and team member development
  • Strong analytical thinking and writing skills
  • Experience with Dynamics 365, CorpTax, OneSource, Vertex, and Avalara a plus
