  • Responsibilities

    District Partners is engaged by a dynamic, PE-backed tech company, to help them hire a new VP Finance & Corporate Controller. This progressive, Fully Remote company seeks to hire an up-and-coming CPA who has displayed strong financial accounting and analysis skills during their tenure in public accounting and/or industry, and will rise to the challenge of financial management leadership.
    Job Summary: As the VP Finance & Corporate Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial and accounting operations of the company. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead a team responsible for enhancing financial management processes and ensuring the company's continued growth. Your responsibilities include budgeting, financial reporting, process optimization, and asset management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide timely financial reporting and metrics to stakeholders, including board members and investors.
    • Set and manage annual and quarterly goals for the finance and accounting team, while evaluating and strengthening team capabilities.
    • Improve and document financial processes and controls, aiming for a fully automated and digital environment.
    • Develop short and long-term operating and capital budgets to achieve target margins.
    • Ensure accurate mapping of costs to inventory and revenues for profitability analysis.
    • Collaborate with operations to develop an asset management process linking financial asset accounting to physical inventory.

    Qualifications:

    • CPA and the education background which is the prerequisite thereof.
    • 4-7 years of progressive experience in public accounting or a mixture of public accounting and corporate accounting experience.
    • Strong proficiency in financial accounting and analytical skills.
    • Ability to apply accounting knowledge to develop skills necessary for managing operating and capital budgets, and broader FP&A routines.
    • The ability to lead and develop a team effectively is crucial. Candidates should have a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, as well as fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
    • Experience in optimizing financial processes and implementing best practices is valuable. Candidates should be adept at identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions to streamline operations.
    • A solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements is essential. Experience in managing external audits and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations is important.
