Job description

Reporting directly to the President of Mount Sinai Hospital Medical Center, the Vice President, Facility Operations, Design & Construction, and Real Estate develops and executes a system wide plan for Facilities Management which results in operational excellence, high customer and staff satisfaction, consistent and effective service delivery, and improved operating costs. The Vice President leads and oversees the following areas: Hospital Facilities Management including Plant Operations and Maintenance, management of Other System Facilities including parking structures and off-campus locations, Environmental/patient transport services, Environment of Care/Life Safety compliance, Real Estate/Property Management, and Capital Planning/Design/Construction. The Vice President ensures all operations are efficient and compliant with all regulatory agencies and proactively supports efforts to deliver safe patient care and services. Will maintain the vision and mission for the organization that will provide comprehensive health services to the community with the strategy of becoming the Provider of Choice. Responsible for the direction, coordination, and management of overall operations and maintenance for multiple campuses to create efficiencies, develop proactive work culture and automated reporting and records for the healthcare system. Accountable for all aspects of facility operations, including but not limited to maintenance and repairs to building structure, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, finishes, grounds and landscaping. Leads implementation of large capital program of typically up to $25M annually with additional strategic projects of up to $25M. Responsible for developing close collaboration among physicians, clinicians, stakeholders and staff by establishing a standard of quality in project management through assembling and coordinating teams of highly skilled professionals. Leads and manages strategic renovation and improvement projects in compliance with funding sources that may including Tax Increment Financing, New market Tax Credits, Capital Grants from governmental agencies and philanthropic gifts. Such initiatives will include identifying, coordinating, and working with external development partners such as architects, contractors, attorneys, community leaders, government agencies, financing partners, and funders. Provides leadership of project design, oversight of general contractors, and management support from inception to completion, with a high level of communication both internally and externally. Serves as the executive liaison for the contracted property/lease management of Sinai Chicago real estate and building assets.
