POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Vice President of Data and Analytics Technology, you will spearhead the strategic direction, development, and management of our Data and Analytics capabilities. You will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive decision-making creating competitive advantages. Your leadership will ensure the effective management of our Data and Analytics environments within AWS, including the Enterprise Data Universe, business intelligence reporting, data access and data science tools, machine learning operations, development and deployment of AI products, data governance and security. In addition, you will be responsible for managing multi-million-dollar project budgets and financial operation for a large-scale AWS Data and Analytics environment, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and financial efficiency across Data and Analytics initiatives.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and oversee a world-class, enterprise-scale Data and Analytics Technology practice, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, actionable insights that drive business strategy and performance.
  • Lead the strategic planning, execution, and continuous optimization of our AWS Data and Analytics infrastructure to support scalable, secure, and innovative data solutions and Analytics processes to enhance federated access to data, promote agility, reduce time-to-value for new initiatives and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Operate within a DevOps and agile working environment, driving innovation in modern data management, delivery of innovative analytic products and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Drive the development and implementation of AI and machine learning models, leveraging AWS technologies to create state-of-the-art solutions that enhance customer experiences and operational efficiencies.
  • Champion the adoption of modern data architectures, ML operations, and DevOps practices, fostering a culture of innovation and experimentation within the team.
  • Ensure robust data governance, security, and compliance frameworks are in place, leveraging AWS capabilities to protect sensitive information and adhere to U.S. and global regulatory standards.
  • Manage multi-million-dollar project budgets and financial operation for a large-scale AWS Data and Analytics environment to drive maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization, enhancing the ability to leverage data for strategic advantage.
  • Provide visionary leadership and development opportunities for the Data and Analytics team, cultivating a high-performing, innovative team environment.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required:
  • B.S. Computer Science/Engineering/Technology or Statistics/Mathematics required
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or Computer Science preferred
  • Credentialed certifications in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Analytics a plus

Years of Job-Related Experience Required:
  • 15-20 years of experience in Data and Analytics, with significant leadership experience, preferably in a large retail environment.
  • 15 years+ of relevant experience in implementing and architecting complex data management and BI capabilities such as data warehouse, big data, data architecture, data engineering, business intelligence, data governance, master data management, self-service analytics, Machine Learning and AI
  • 15 years+ of experience analyzing complex data, managing multiple projects with increasing difficulty and complexity, and developing sophisticated reports.
  • 10 years+ of management and leadership experience.
  • 6 years+ experience in the retail industry.

Technical/Other Skills Required:
  • Proven track record of leadership and capable of providing leadership across a company, advocating for and supporting a culture that is data-driven
  • Proven expertise in managing AWS Data and Analytics technologies, with a strong grasp of AWS financial operations and budget management.
  • Demonstrated success in leading a world-class, enterprise-scale Data and Analytics practice, with extensive knowledge of modern data architectures, ML operations, and DevOps practices.
  • A track record of driving innovation within a DevOps and agile working environment, demonstrating agility and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Experience leveraging data to drive strategic innovation within mid to large retail organization
  • Demonstrated passion for innovation and a hunger for keeping up with industry trends identifying value driving opportunities for the organization
  • Deft skill in managing across many teams in a highly matrixed organization
  • Proven excellence in managing a team of data professionals including data analysts, data scientists and data engineers
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP etc. (AWS experience preferred)
  • Expert knowledge of requirements and design best practices, including data modeling, data transformation and dashboard design
  • Experience leading business intelligence tools, such as MS Power BI, Tableau, SAS, Business Objects, and MicroStrategy etc.
  • Experience implementing and/or supporting data governance and master data management technologies such as Informatica, Collibra etc.
  • Experience implementing data management tools such HANA, Informatica, Redshift etc.

The salary range for this opportunity is $215,000 - $250,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience, among other factors.
