VP, Data Strategy & Analytics

The Vice President of Data Strategy & Analytics will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of Data Strategy, data governance, and analytics within the credit union. You will play a critical role in developing and executing the credit union’s data-driven initiatives, driving insights, and enabling data-informed decision-making across all departments. You will lead a team of data professionals and collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities, implement data integration solutions, and develop innovative analytics strategies.

Responsibilities:

General

• Develop and execute a comprehensive Data Strategy aligning with the credit union’s goals, business objectives, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and standards and ensure data consistency across systems and processes.
• Partnering with business stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures in all areas of data management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and contribute to achieving credit union goals.
• Collaborate with vendors and external partners as required to support business and strategic initiatives.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Data Strategy, analytics, and business intelligence.
• Lead and manage a team of data professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Partner with IT teams to ensure the availability and accessibility of data, implementing appropriate data storage, integration, and security measures.

Data Integrations

• Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
• Lead the design and implementation of data integration processes, systems, and tools to enable seamless data flow across the credit union.
• Lead initiatives to enhance internal and external data acquisition, integration, and storage capabilities, ensuring scalability, accuracy, and availability.
• Drive data quality initiatives, including cleansing, profiling, and establishing data quality metrics and monitoring processes.
• Develop metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of data integration initiatives on business outcomes.
• Monitor and report on the performance of data initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and making recommendations for improvement.

Business Analytics

• Oversee the development and maintenance of data and predictive analytics models, algorithms, and methodologies to extract valuable insights from data.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand their data needs, develop customized analytics solutions, and deliver actionable recommendations.
• Lead the design and implementation of business intelligence systems, processes, and infrastructure to enable effective data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Oversee developing and delivering accurate, timely, insightful reports and presentations to support strategic decision-making at all levels.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related discipline. An advanced degree is preferred.
• Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing Data Strategy, data governance, and analytics in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of data integration techniques, data management principles, and best practices in data governance.
• Financial Industry experience developing innovative ETL processes and tools preferred.
• Data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, databases, SQL, systems programming.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing data-driven strategies that drive business outcomes.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools, statistical analysis, and visualization techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence key decision-makers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a results-oriented mindset.
• Experience implementing data analytics platforms and working knowledge of cloud technologies is a plus.
• Proven track record of driving successful data initiatives and delivering measurable business value.
