About us: The One Life Project is a national nonprofit organization that works to build and create a kinder world where we educate, advocate for, and support teens, college students, and young adults who are struggling with mental health in the hopes of preventing suicide in young people and ending the stigma that surrounds mental health. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and currently have several offices across the United States. We are home to over 3,500 volunteers and employees worldwide.
The One Life Project Inc is currently taking applications to be a Board Member on our Executive Board of Directors and is a volunteer, non-paid role within the One Life Project. Our Executive Board Members serve as a member of all board meetings which take place 5 times per year. Openings for new Board Members open up every year in April and May. Board members only need to commit to a few hours of work each month and play a crucial role in our organization, its growth, and our future. Experience is a plus, but not required.
The responsibilities of this role include the following:
- Attending board meetings as scheduled (meetings are usually scheduled six months to one year in advance) and vote on important topics including finance, donation management, new leaders, etc
- Help oversee the direction of our organization, vote on new partnerships, and help decide on important new tasks
This is an executive role and includes your name and picture on our website.
Requirements:
- Experience in Community Relations, Advocacy, Marketing, or Business is great, but not required.
-Strong love for helping people and supporting people
- Excellent leadership and comprehension skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking abilities
- Average of 1-2 hours a month is needed to contribute, attend meetings when needed, learn, and volunteer (This role is remote and doesn't require any certain schedule)
