Big Brothers Big Sisters has the following position available: Volunteer Director of Recruitment (Bilingual in Spanish Preferred) located in Houston, TX.
Position Summary:
The Volunteer Director of Recruitment will develop and direct volunteer mentor recruitment and intake efforts for Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Houston. Manage all external recruitment partners, and develop strategies for expanding existing relationships and engaging new partners. Work with program leaders to develop goals and delivery timeline for new volunteers and direct recruitment and intake team efforts to align with those goals. Provide leadership and management of volunteer recruitment and intake team.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities, and Activities
Strategy Development and Execution:
- Work with the VP of Program and other Market leaders to develop goals and delivery timeline for new volunteer mentor recruitment needs of BBBS Houston.
- Cultivate, manage and sustain partnerships with individuals and mentor-rich organizations to achieve set goals and timelines for all volunteer mentor recruitment needs of BBBS Houston.
- Collaborate and engage other departments for support of mentor recruitment
- Effectuate new contacts for a variety of Agency departments to assist with driving and attaining department and Agency goals (ie. Youth recruitment, Fundraising, and Marketing)
- Network, build rapport, and positive relationships with stakeholders to recruit and retain contacts and grow partnership opportunities
- Ex. Local businesses, association memberships, corporate partner
- Cultivate relationships to educate prospective contacts about the variety of ways they can support BBBS Houston
- Ex. Becoming a Big, corporate sponsor, donor, special event participant, join a Board group
Partner Management and Lead Generation
- Maintain a constant presence in the Greater Houston community on behalf of BBBS Houston to cultivate, manage, and sustain partnerships with mentor-rich organizations
- Ensure the requisite amount of partnerships to facilitate the volunteer recruitment need for all program delivery models and grants annually
- Develop strategies with new and existing partners to expand efforts for volunteer recruitment and/or
- Engage in the generation of new partnerships and work with existing partners to inspire new interest in program models best suited to their organization
- Attend community events through independent outreach, collaboration of Volunteer Recruitment, and as directed by the VP of Program in the interest of Houston market’s volunteer mentor needs
Staff Leadership
- Supervise, develop, plan and direct the efforts of Recruitment and volunteer intake staff through performance management, shared dialogue, goal assignment, training opportunities, and identification of areas for improvement/growth.
- Ensure team meets monthly goals and provide effective and efficient delivery of services
- Train all staff that interface with volunteer intake duties and ensure customer service experience
Analyze Trends
- Work with Director of Enrollment to analyze various data to help drive overall recruitment strategy, Director of Marketing and third parties’ efforts to recruit new volunteers in areas where efficient matching can take place.
- Responsible for staying current on trends that affect our community, including diversity, equity and inclusion, and child/volunteer recruitment
- Routinely refer to Agency database (Matchforce) and systems for the purpose of reporting and data integrity.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in sales, public relations, or marketing.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in sales, client management, data analytics, and/or strategic recruitment.
- Demonstrated experience working multiple clients.
- Minimum of 3 years people management experience.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting goals and objectives.
- High level management, activation, and motivation skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access software, including keyboard skills of 45 words per minute, error free.
- Availability and flexibility to accommodate early weekday morning and evening hours and weekend hours, as well as travel to varying local venues.
