Job Description
Position Summary:
Multi-Arts Academy is eagerly looking for an experienced Voice Teacher / Singing Instructor to assist and develop individuals to reach their full vocal potential. The successful candidate will report to their duties starting one day a week and can be moved to additional days in the future.
The goal is to ensure all individuals are learning and training their singing capabilities and feel confident doing so. This position is an onsite part-time position for the after-school evening shift. This position would be starting out one day for about 3-6 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
- Meeting with clients to perform vocal assessments and determine their needs and career goals.
- Structuring individual lessons and showing up on time for sessions with clients.
- Guiding clients through lessons using a range of vocal techniques and exercises.
- Teaching a variety of warm-up exercises.
- Preparing clients for concerts and competitions.
- Teaching students how to sing acapella or music accompaniment.
- Advising students on how best to preserve their voices.
- Attending events and workshops to keep vocal training skills sharp.
- Establishing professional, long-lasting relationships with clients.
- Keeping abreast of trends in the music industry.
Qualifications:
- Voice - Singing Teaching: 2 years (Required)
- Degree in Music or Education (Preferred)
- Singing, songwriting, or stage performance experience is recommended.
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and teaching skills.
- The ability to motivate individuals when required.
- Good time management and attention to detail.
- A personable manner and a high degree of professionalism.
- Driven and disciplined.
- Strong interpersonal and people skills, to build relationships.
- BILINGUAL - English / Spanish or Portuguese is a PLUS
Physical Demands:
Position requires standing, walking, sitting, use of hands to finger, reaching with hands and arms, and talking or hearing.
