position of:
VOCATIONAL SPECIAL EDUCATION (VoSE) COORDINATOR
The Vocational Special Education (VoSE) Coordinator assists with the coordination of students with disabilities participation in career technical education programs. Promotes close working relationships with parents, students, staff, and associate school personnel. The Coordinator plans, implements, and evaluates student learning experiences using a differentiated curriculum. Helps students manage behavior, identify goals, and make appropriate choices. The Coordinator is responsible for managing all legal mandates and requirements. Works under the direction of the Director of Student Services.
STARTING DATE:August 1, 2023
SALARY: Appropriate placement per Administrative Compensation Plan, which will be commensurate with experience and education, ranging from $47,151.00 to $82,458.00 per year.
REPORTS TO:Principal or Designee

WORK-WEEK/YEAR: 185 days per year
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Valid 5-Year Professional Educator License - Intervention Specialist (K-12); possess or willingness to obtain a Transition-To-Work (TTW) endorsement. Solid foundational knowledge of SPECIAL EDUCATION law and requirements, experience with Federal/Ohio Special Education Law, Ohio Academic Content Standards, graduation requirements, and assessments. Proficient in writing and implementing IEPs, documenting student progress data, and adhering to required timelines and paperwork compliance. Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality. Ability to multi-task, handle multiple complex situations simultaneously, and demonstrate flexibility. Independent self-starter. Good time management skills and knowledge to meet multiple deadlines at once. Assist teachers in ensuring appropriate service delivery and accommodations, with an emphasis on inclusive practices. Provide instructional coaching and consultation to help teachers meet diverse needs in career technical and academic settings. Provide students with disabilities with direct/indirect services and support. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to problem solve, resolve disagreements and maintain a positive student learning environment. Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and to maintain positive relationships with colleagues. Act as an ambassador for the Medina County Career Center with a willingness to serve as a liaison to the associate school and parents. Consult with relevant associate school and MCCC staff concerning the enrollment and placement of potential students.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in career technical education is a plus. Strong technology skills. At least three years of experience working with students with disabilities at the high school level. Experience writing and implementing IEPs and 504s. Ability to chair meetings.
