Position: Community-Based Vocational Job Coach
Reports to: Director of Pupil Services
Employment Status: Classified
Community-Based Vocational Job Coach position through the ESC NEO. 25-30$ per hour depending on experience and 4.5 hours per day (Part time)

Main Objective: To provide independent supervision of students to and from job sites as well as direct
supervision at job sites. Works directly with VOSE coordinator to implement site work.

Required Education, Experience & Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent
- Educational Aide, Paraprofessional License
- ESEA Certificate (within 6 months of employment)
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of various computer applications
appropriate to duties
- Meet all health requirements mandated by law
- Experience in secretarial/clerical work preferred
- Satisfactory completion of the BCII and FBI background check
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle license
- 2 - 3 years of experience as a Community-Based Vocational Program Job Coach is
preferred
Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide coaching and supervision for students at community job site locations.
- Introduce and teach the required work skill(s), monitor student behavior, collect data
on student IEP work goals and objectives, ensure 100% accuracy on work production,
assist the intervention specialist in preparing and delivering vocational skills lessons
and leisure skill activities.
- Act as a liaison with job site contacts (employers) and the community based
intervention specialist.
- Oversee program supplies at both skills training center and community based job site.
- Manages student attendance records.
- Assists program intervention specialists with clerical responsibilities for direct
services.
- Provide support for students in job sites on specific tasks through situational
assessment and task analysis.
- Assist in preparing a monthly program newsletter for parents and students.
- Maintain required uniforms and equipment for job sites for the students.
- Schedule transportation as needed.
- Maintain documentation of student production and work speed.
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Assist students in developing task analysis skills.
- Assist students in identifying natural supports in the workplace that students can use
for job support, transportation, and social connections.
- Discuss safety procedures with students.
- Communicate with students about specific work/social skills needed for a particular
employment position.
- Introduce students to their employer and co-workers.
- Train students how to do the job, or observe as the supervisor trains the students.
- Observe the ways that students interact with co-workers and supervisors for later
discussion with students.
- Observe the productivity level of students and their co-workers so that you do not
hold students to inaccurate standards.
- Observe the workplace culture so that you can help the students to assimilate.
- Discuss your relevant observations with students.
- Develop the kind and amount of instruction to each student's learning style.
Instruction may consist of verbal instruction, written instruction, and other approved
platforms.
- Help students to develop their own system for organizing.
- Mediate any differences with co-workers or employers if necessary.
- Implement fading techniques by gradually withdrawing support.
- Other duties as assigned.

students and the public and promote a positive image of the district through
exemplary personal conduct including but not limited to:
- The ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally
and in writing, with tact, diplomacy, and excellent grammar.
- The demonstration of effective listening skills.
- Remaining free of any alcohol or controlled substance abuse in the workplace
throughout his/her employment in the Beachwood City School District
Physical Demands
Ability to hear and speak, read and write, sit and/or stand for extended periods of time,
use hands to operate a computer and other equipment, kneel, bend at the waist, reach
overhead - above the shoulders and horizontally, to retrieve and store files and supplies,
ability to lift, carry, push and pull items up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds.
