Description of Work
This Vocational Evaluator position is located in the Lexington Unit Office and covers Davidson, Davie, Randolph, & Yadkin Counties. This position serves individuals referred from Rehabilitation Counselors in the unit. The selected candidate provides comprehensive vocational evaluation assessments and evaluations to consumer with a range of disabilities, education levels, and work experience to assist with job planning and placement.
Job responsibilities include the following:
  • Conducting community-based vocational assessments
  • Administering/scoring/interpreting an extensive variety of vocational interest, achievement, and aptitude tests
  • Analyzing consumers' medical, psychological, socio-economic, vocational and educational information in the context of vocational planning
  • Developing and administering a formal evaluation plan for each individual served
  • Creating written reports which may be used for other agencies in determining disability benefits and compensation
  • Gathering occupational resource information for better service deliverables
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary teams and committees
  • Collaborating with Business Relations Representatives for cohesive service delivery for achievement of a suitable vocational goal
  • Partnering with consumers and their family members, employers, school personnel, and other community agencies/contacts
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Master s degree in vocational evaluation, rehabilitation counseling, or closely related human services field from an appropriately accredited institution
OR
Bachelor s degree in vocational evaluation, rehabilitation counseling, or a closely related human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities
OR
equivalent combination of education and experience
