Visitor Services Specialist - Admissions and Experiences
Department - Zoo
Hourly Pay Range: $16.76 - $18.67

This role is 40 hours a week, 8 hours a day which may include scheduled events on holidays,
weekends, nights and occasional OT.
Role Summary:Under supervision of the Guest Services Supervisor and Visitor Services Specialist Lead, the Visitor Services Specialist helps oversee Zoo operations including ticket sales, cash handling, meeting and greeting customers, assisting with crowd and traffic control, while upholding Zoo policies and procedures. Assisting with operation of Admissions and Experiences (e.g., Giraffe Feeding, Special Exhibits and Zoo Expeditions tours) while being involved with the development of new opportunities to generate revenues. Potential to cross train in the other Visitor Services operations.
Role Responsibilities:
- Customer Service and Cash Controls - Provide and uphold exceptional customer service standards and assist with customer concerns and requests. Operate and monitor Point-Of-Sale (POS) system to sell large volume of tickets within admissions, parking, and zoo experiences. Uphold access to Zoo Grounds work rule to provide approved access to visitors, zoo guests, vendors and contractors.
- Support various special exhibits and revenue programs - Participate in the. growth and development of various annual special exhibits and revenue programs
- Reporting - Communicate and submit information pertaining to POS, Guest Encounters, Work Orders, Preventative Maintenance, and reporting on individual assigned goals.
- Team Lead - Involvement with orientating and training new seasonal Zoo Workers annually and organizing and directing daily work assignments. Ensure all seasonal Zoo Workers are upholding service standards, workplace safety, and following all work rules, polices, and procedures that pertain to the job.
- Zoo Functions - Assist, control, and communicate during drills and emergencies, lost persons, and events.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current residency in the State of Wisconsin required.
- A valid State of Wisconsin Driver's License at time of hire and maintained throughout employment.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- At least one (1) year or more of work experience in Customer Service, Cash Handling, training team members.
Technology, Systems and Software Knowledge required to perform the job:
- Knowledge of all related computer and software applications (e.g., Microsoft, Gmail, Smartsheet, Dayforce, ZSM Interface)

- Other: Monitoring Station (Electronic Computerized Gate System), Ocularis (Cameras)
