Description:

The Department ofOccupational Therapy is seeking a full-time Visiting Research Specialist tocontribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of the ASIAAN project.'Aging Services Inclusive of Asian American Networks' (ASIAAN) is a technicalassistance and resource development center that will address healthcare andsocial service barriers affecting Asian American older adults by buildingcapacity for culturally relevant care within service systems, fostering healthliteracy among older adults and their caregivers, and cultivating culturalsensitivity among future health and social service providers.

This position contributes to the design and delivery of research projects and collaborates with researchers to develop, execute and interpret research projects. Performs complex data collection and study methods. This position is the principal contributor for managing a technical assistance and resource center and research projects within the center. Perform management and complex study tasks include data collection and analysis. Coordinate and direct the work and research tasks of lower level research staff.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research
  • Collaborate with Principle Investigator, Co-Principal Investigator, and Co-Investigators to develop research protocols for IRB submission
  • Oversee complex data collection and study methods. Analyze and evaluate research results.
  • Coordinate the ordering, inventory and maintenance of equipment, and data collection and analysis tools.
  • Monitor project developments on an ongoing basis. Propose and implement changes as needed.
  • Project Management
  • Conceptualize, initiate and execute project goals.
  • Conduct and coordinate project activities.
  • Develop and maintain protocols for protection of human subjects in research
  • Schedule team meetings and track progress
  • Prepare materials for community outreach
  • Communications
  • Monitor project developments on an ongoing basis and implement changes as needed.
  • Prepare, organize and communicate meeting minutes and evaluation findings. Write papers, grants, and other documents for publication based on project findings.
  • Author and co-author knowledge translation products, academic publications and present at aging conferences
  • Prepare and contribute statistical data and pertinent information for papers, grants and other documents.
  • Complete required documentation for regulatory agencies.
  • Staff Management
  • May act as supervisor or team lead in directing and coordinating the work of lower level staff. Guide, train and advise lower level graduate hourly research assistants and students on techniques, methods and procedures.
  • Plan, assign and review work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in social science or related field required.
    • A minimum of 3 years related research experience.
    • Possesses and applies advanced knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods

    Preferred Qualifications
    Master's degree in social science preferred.
    A minimum of 5 years related project management experience.
    Knowledge of program evaluation methods, and basic budget management.
