Job Description:

The School of Engineering, Computing, and Construction Management (SECCM) at Roger Williams University is seeking a one-year Visiting Professor in the field of Computer Science. The responsibilities include lecture and/or laboratory instruction including Data Structures and Laboratory, Analysis of Algorithms, and advanced electives, preferably in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and/or Human-Computer Interaction. The selected person is responsible for delivering lectures and/or laboratories, developing assessment items (homework, quizzes, exams, etc.), and assessing student work. The selected person also is responsible for providing additional assistance to students as necessary. The selected applicant will provide an end-of-course assessment for each course using a specified format. The selected person will provide academic advising for up to a total of 25 students across all years. The primary language is Java, but there is flexibility in programming languages for advanced electives.


Requirements:

The qualified applicant will hold at least a Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field. The applicant should possess experience with programming and debugging. The applicant should possess experience relevant to the course topics. Previous teaching experience is a plus.  Availability to teach a lecture or laboratory within the hours of 8:00a.m.- 5:00 p.m. is a requirement of this position.

At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
