Vineyard technicians in the Napa/Sonoma area
We are a precision agriculture/consulting company providing an unparalleled level of expertise on vineyard data. Our method is designed to help winemakers link key environmental and plant metrics with their vineyard practices in order to grow the highest quality fruit while reducing their environmental impact. The Vineyard Technicians play an important role in providing precise measurements of vine performance throughout the season.
The Job: This internship is a highly dynamic opportunity, with each day different from the last. Our services and technology provide clients with a method to continuously monitor their vines from bud break to harvest. The Vineyard Technicians assist with the site maintenance and timely collection of vineyard data throughout the season. This is a challenging (both mentally and physically) but highly rewarding internship. It gives you the chance to see the wine industry from a less common perspective and learn how to apply these technologies to viticultural practices.
This is a vineyard internship, so you will be outside rain or shine. Physical fitness is a factor of this job; we work with heavy equipment in the field so you will be required to carry materials to the vineyard site at many different locations. Because what we do is so unique, you will need to learn a lot of information in a short period of time and follow detailed guidelines to fulfill job duties. Expectations for this internship are high.
We are constantly growing, so there is potential for this internship to turn into full-time employment. This position also provides a great opportunity to get your foot in the door with different wine brands. Our intern alumni have gone on to do many great things at many different companies around the world.
Key qualities to be successful in this position: honesty, strong attention to detail, and the aptitude to adapt to changing schedules/tasks.
Dates : Approximate 7 months (April-October)
Schedule: Monday to Friday 40 hours/week, infrequent overtime - Flexible hours
Job responsibilities include:
- Vineyard site visits for sensor installation, maintenance, and repairs
- Basic problem solving of electrical equipment
- Daily record keeping and data entry
- Frequent status updates to your supervisor
Requirements:
- Must provide your own transportation, you will be reimbursed for mileage
- Must live in or near the area
- We do not have the ability to sponsor for this position, you must be authorized to work in the U.S.
