Who We Are:
Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 15,500 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. The District has 1 early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9th - 12 grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.

What We Need:
Under the direct supervision of the Technology Manager for Diverse Learners and indirectly to the Executive Director for Information Technology Services this position will create projects through planning, storyboarding, and production with faculty and staff. Renders conceptual ideas for production of new videos for the campus, edits, and updates existing videos. Also responsible for the design and production of computer-generated graphics for Video Productions, which includes but is not limited to Video Production, graphic design, and special event support. This individual must have strong multi-tasking skills. Additionally, this person must have strong communication and computer skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Render conceptual ideas for production of new videos for the WPS60 School District.
- Edit and update existing videos.
- Develop all assigned projects by planning what equipment will be needed to capture the events on video.
- Pre-produce the events by going out into the field and recording the projects or events on video.
- Produce the projects by editing the recorded videos, using a series of video editing software/systems.
- Document all Video Production using storyboarding techniques.
- Conduct capture, ingest, encode, author, and publish webcast projects and events.
- Manage Video Production equipment inventory.
- Manage district video archive and library.
- Technically direct, operate cameras, audio, lighting and playback equipment for live events.
- Operate video servers and video backup systems.
- Perform video, audio patching and routing.
- Q.C. monitoring and evaluation using audio and video test equipment.
- Post-produces the projects by assembling the edited videos into television/web based/mobile devices. Programs and transferring the programs from the computer to a DVD.
- Delivery of equipment to the video shooting location.
- Work with WPS60 Communications Department on district's initiatives and projects.
- Record district's professional development activities.
- Assist schools with recordings and Video Productions.
- Facilitate Video Production equipment to other departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Commitment to the belief that all children, regardless of circumstances, can achieve at high levels.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Friendly and professional interpersonal skill with a strong customer service orientation.
- One (1) or more years of experience using multimedia equipment.
- Knowledge of Macintosh OSX High Sierra operating system.
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Media Encoder and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of digital and still photography, and video television cameras.
- Knowledge editing software/system (Adobe Premiere).
- Knowledge of video streaming and webcasting.
- Knowledge of audio, sound and lights.
- Knowledge of digital photography.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
- Possess strong project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Possess and maintain valid State of Illinois Driver's license.
- Ability to lift and carry thirty (30) pounds (over short distances).
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments.
- Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm and the ability to pass required proficiency test(s).
- Must pass the Skills Test or the Technology Skills Assessment.
Work Environment: Busy office environment with multiple priorities and frequent interruptions.
Terms of Employment: Twelve months
